There was no time for teasing and tempting. He was rock hard, and she was wet and ready. They both needed this, needed to join, needed to love, needed to become one as they always did when they made love.
He slipped into her slow and with ease, but she would have none of it. She wrapped her legs around him, drawing him tighter against her.
He groaned and met her eyes with his. “Your need is that great?”
She nodded and raised her hips to draw him as deep inside her as she could.
“Hold on,” he urged and turned his slow thrusts into forceful ones.
Dawn’s head tilted back on the pillow and Cree could hear her cries of pleasure in his head and felt it with the way her finger tapped repeatedly against his arm since one tap meant aye and two nay. She was letting him know how much pleasure he was bringing her, and his own passion soared out of control.
They often had explosive climaxes, but now after having felt a distance between them in the last few days it was as if they were reuniting after having been parted for far too long. It built hard and fast inside him, his need for her, and it would not be long before he erupted in pleasure, and he intended to make sure he took her with him.
Dawn met his mighty rhythm with a strength of her own. She wanted to feel all of him, take him deep, feel him explode inside her. She squeezed her eyes shut as she gripped his arms tighter. She wanted it to last but she was too near the edge, and she wanted to throw herself off into the oblivion of pleasure she knew awaited her.
“We go together, Dawn,” Cree ordered, and her eyes sprang open, and she nodded her head.
“Hold tight,” he demanded, and it took barely three thrusts for them to topple completely over the edge into endless pleasure.
Cree let out such a powerful roar that it had to have echoed throughout the keep.
Her own scream of pleasure echoed like a tolling bell in her head, her release rolling through her endlessly and her grip tight on her husband as they shared it together.
Drained from his potent climax Cree collapsed on his wife and her arms slipped around him to hug him tight. She often did that, not wanting him to slip out of her too soon afterwards, but she could manage his weight for only so long. And he was aware of how long that was and rolled off her, never failing to take her with him and rest her against his side, his arm snug around her.
After breaths were regained and bodies relaxed, Dawn raised her head to look at him and smiled.
“Satisfied, wife?” he asked with a playful grin.
Her smile turned to a wide grin as she nodded vigorously, then tapped his chest and shrugged.
“Like you, I am immensely satisfied,” he said, and he felt her sigh against him, pleased for them both.
Silence followed but Cree knew her thoughts and what she wished to say, and he felt it only fair that they discuss it.
“I must go, Dawn. Cavell must know that I will not bow to his demands and what the consequences will be if he harms any of my warriors or William. Besides, he knows full well I will come to discuss his demands.” To his surprise, she nodded. “You agree?”
She nodded then shook her head.
Cree understood. “You know I must do it, but you wish I did not have to.”
She nodded again, worry in her eyes as she patted her chest.
“I know you will worry but your love will go with me, and I will return home safely to you.”
She traced an X over her chest with her finger.
“Aye, wife, you have my word on it,” he said and sealed it with a kiss to her brow. “I will leave early tomorrow, speak with Cavell, and return home soon enough. I would like to win everyone’s release, but I doubt that will happen and I will not remain there and have him think I stay to negotiate. I will, however, leave a troop of warriors there to make certain no harm comes to our people.” He gave a slight shake of his head. “This abduction continues to puzzle me.”
Dawn nodded, agreeing with him, for she felt the same.
“Mercenaries are notoriously untrustworthy—”
Dawn interrupted with several taps to his chest and shook her head.
“I could be untrustworthy in my day when necessary and believe me, many times it was necessary for survival. I got disgusted quickly with seeing the lies, deceit, the secrets, the backstabbing so many purportedly good men and women were capable of, and as for love?” Cree shook his head. “I lost all belief in it,” —he gave his wife a tight hug— “until I met you.”
Dawn patted her chest and shook her head, then rested her hand on her chest then his and smiled.
