My fingers twitched.
Understanding rolled through me as my palms stretched, and then my fists clenched.
The pads of my fingers dragged over the smooth fabric of the gloves I had on, and my eyes slowly opened.
I was Harper.
Sway.
Lainen.
Sirus’s mate.
“I think I might love you,”he had whispered to me.
Both my memories and magic settled in my soul as I peered at the world around me. The sky was beautiful, its color a soft blue that was only a shade away from white. It was full of clouds dancing in different breezes, and sunshine somehow making the air sparkle.
The wind carried me back and forth, but when I looked down, I saw the mountain below me.
And on that mountain, I saw Storm waiting.
My King of Disaster.
My Sirus.
My mate.
Emotion swelled in my throat.
The wind—it was a part of me now.
I could feel it in every breath I took.
But I was still here.
And I wanted what Sirus and I had agreed to. The vows. The permanence.
I wanted to be his, and I wanted him to be mine.
As I softly urged the air to lower me, a heavy gust of wind tossed me toward the mountain. A screech escaped me as I dropped like a fucking rock.
A pair of thick arms caught me before I could collide with the ground, though, and Storm’s grin filled my gaze.
My own lips stretched wide. “Thanks.”
“You’ve got to be careful how you ask the wind for things. Sometimes when you ask for a mate, it throws you a human female who wants nothing to do with you,” he warned, still wearing that gorgeous fucking grin.
“I’ll try to remember that next time,” I drawled.
Sirus set me on my feet.
My arms lifted to wrap around his neck, and his circled my lower back.
There would be time for learning my magic later.
First, I needed to claim my man.
“I take you and give myself to you through all of life’s elements,” Sirus murmured.
