It was time to chill out.
Chill.
Out.
I focused on my breathing.
In…
Out…
In…
Out…
In…
Out…
My eyes were still glued to that small space between Storm and Ayla, though. Sure, we were in a cave, and there wasn’t a lot of space to go around in the moment.
But…
“You’ve been standing there a long time, Harper. Need to talk about something else?” Ivy whispered.
Shit.
“No, I’m good,” I managed.
So, swallowing my conscience or pride or fear or whatever the hell was driving me insane, I turned away from them and walked to the other side of the cave. There was a little bit of uneven ground that I could make work.
I curled up in a ball, and by some miracle, managed to fall asleep.
Chapter 11
“Harper.”Ivy’s voice was low as she shook my shoulder lightly. “We’ve got to get moving again. There are a lot of monsters coming our way.”
Monsters?
I groggily sat up, rubbing at my crusty eyes. There was so much hair in my face that I could no longer pretend my braids were doing me any good.
A breeze blew lightly against me, and I felt an invisible hand sliding up my inner thigh. I nearly shuddered, but forced myself not to let anyone see what Sirus’s magic was doing to me.
“Soon, you’ll feel my cock between your thighs,”Sirus’s low voice said into my mind.“My hands on your breasts. My lips on your—”
“Harper?” Ivy shook my shoulder again, lightly, and I jerked my attention back to her. “We need to go, but Storm’s glowing again.” She gestured in the direction I vaguely remembered leaving the king.
I glanced over there, my chest clenching at the sight of Ayla sitting on the ground so close to where my glowing-eyed mate sat. Her side was nearly pressed against Flood’s, so it wasn’t like she was throwing herself all over him. I was just overly-sensitive.
Knowing that didn’t make me feel any better, though.
“Okay.” I eased myself to my feet, missing the outstretched hand Sirus always offered me when I’d just woken up.
“We’ll start walking this way to give you guys a minute. I’m ninety-nine percent sure it’s the way we need to go.” Ivy looked exhausted, but still gave me a small smile.
“Thanks,” I whispered, still rubbing at my eyes.
The other two couples headed off slowly in the direction she had pointed to, leaving me to make my way over to Sirus.
