“I taste like sand. How about you just kiss me and touch me, and then put this inside me?” I surged forward, stealing his lips as I squeezed his cock.

“Fair,” he murmured against my mouth.

“Very fair,” I agreed.

And he did exactly what I wanted.

Twice.

We ended up rinsing our clothes in some nasty swamp water to clean up afterward and have an excuse for Dove (we “fell in a pond”), but it was so worth it. I was positively giddy the rest of the day, and Sirus was more relaxed than he’d been since we left the water fae.

Chapter 18

When the fourthday came around, we packed up our bags, Ayla dragged Flood back into the water to wake him up, and then we transported away.

The wind settled around us, and I couldsmellthe difference in our new surroundings.

Sand and stone.

Yay.

We were back in the smallish cave we had stopped at… when was that?

I remembered Quake lowering us down into the canyon-thing with his magic, so it must’ve been after we rescued him and Margo and accidentally destroyed the earth fae’s main city in the process.

Our group spread out. There was a funny look on Ayla’s face that made me wonder if she felt something I didn’t, and Margo justwalked over to the edge of the cave and sat down with her back to the stone wall.

Sirus managed to remain standing this time. I realized that the last time, he had already transported me to a few different places, so his magic had probably started out weaker. I felt bad for that, but there was nothing I could do now.

“Could you both come with me?” Dove asked, looking up at me and then Sirus. “I don’t want to go alone.”

“Of course.” He squeezed her hand, and she gave him a hesitant smile.

Ayla and Flood stepped into the sand, and then she froze.

Her whole body seemed to halt.

And then the sand parted around her, and swallowed her whole.

My hand flew up and covered my mouth to hide my scream.

What the hell?

What happened?

Why wasn’t Flood panicking?

He just waded out to the side and took a seat on the edge of the sand pit.

“When an element chooses you, it pulls you in and consumes you for a few moments,” Sirus murmured to me. “The gloves you wear help you find yourself in the element, and then you’ll figure out how to free yourself.”

Dove nodded.

Maybe that was common knowledge among elemental fae, but it had scared the shit out of me. My heart was still pounding hard.

“Can Quake come with us too?” Dove asked Sirus, before we stepped toward the sand.

“Of course.” Sirus released her for a minute, stepping over to the glowing-eyed Quake, and grabbed his friend’s arm. When he recaptured Dove’s little hand, we all finally walked to the sand.
