My breathing remained even, my heartbeat staying the same.
The wind died down, and Sirus murmured, “Look, Sway.”
I opened my eyes and peeked to the side, knowing I didn’t stand a chance at seeing over Sirus’s shoulder.
When I saw the wall of the room we’d left that morning, my jaw fell open.
I stepped out of Sirus’s arms, spinning as I took in the whole room.
“Holy shit,” I breathed. “Holy shit, Sirus!” I spun around, throwing my arms over his shoulders and going up on my tiptoes, pressing my lips to his. His hands found my lower back, and he dragged my front to his. “You did it.” I grinned up at him. “We don’t have to walk forever.”
His expression wasalmostas happy as mine. “We would have to make sure one of the kings is awake and able to protect you, or I won’t do it. The risk to you and Dove is too great.”
“I’m positive that Margo will keep Quake awake for a few days if it means we don’t have to hike for a month,” I countered. “Then we would be protected, right? So there would be no reason not to?”
His lips curved upward slightly. “I suppose.”
“You suppose?” I exclaimed. “Come on, Sirus. This is SO much better than walking.”
“I actually enjoy walking behind you, love. Your ass sways rather enticingly.” His hands slid down to my backside and squeezed, making me laugh.
A snort escaped me when it occurred to me that my swaying ass could be the reasoning behind his nickname for me, even though that didn’t really feel on-brand for Sirus.
“I’ll sleep on top of you at the lands’ hearts if you transport us. You could literally sleep with my ass in your hands if you wanted,” I promise.
His lips curved upward. “You know I can’t say no to you, Sway.”
“I know.” I pressed my mouth to his.
His hand cupped the back of my head, and he walked me to the bed. “I do have one condition though,” he murmured to me.
“Name it,” I said against his lips.
“You let me make love to you here before we tell anyone about our realization. If you’re going to exhaust me for a few days with this, I want to enjoy myself first.” His eyes gleamed.
I grinned. “Of course. It’s only fair.”
He had me draped over the bed with his face between my thighs in a heartbeat. My fingers clenched in the sheets, and I cried out as he brought me to the edge.
Before I went over, his tongue left my center, and his erection slid between my thighs. He opened my legs further, and slowly slid home.
Our chests rose and fell rapidly as he gave me time to adjust, and when I opened my eyes, I found his gorgeous purple ones staring at my face like it held the answers to every question a person could ever ask.
“You’re fucking gorgeous,” he growled, pulling out and then thrusting back in.
I sucked a breath in as he bottomed out, the pleasure growing thicker and dragging me back to the edge.
“You’re fucking brilliant,” he growled again, repeating the motion.
I couldn’t stop myself from inhaling sharply when was fully sheathed inside me once again.
“You’re everything to me, Sway.” He thrust home one last time, and everything seemed to burst.
I screamed as I shattered, encouraged by Sirus’s roar as he painted my insides with his pleasure. The door to the bedroom rattled, and I felt more than heard my king’s snarl as his wind slammed it shut and held it there.
“Harper?” Ivy yelled from the other side of the door.
I looked up at Sirus, wide-eyed.
