Another breeze blew against my skin, and I shivered as I slowly lowered myself onto the man’s lap.
His magic’s invisible hand slid between my thighs, and I inhaled sharply at the drag over my most sensitive parts. Grabbing his face, I planted my mouth on his and parted his lips with my tongue.
He snapped out of it faster than usual, his hands finding my back and dragging me closer as his mouth began to move too. His tongue danced with mine, the movements slow and sensual.
He slowed further before pulling away.
My eyes remained closed, my emotions shifting rapidly.
The backs of his fingers brushed my cheek, and my eyes flew open.
“Everyone’s waiting for us,” I said quickly. “They need you to navigate. Went that way.” I pointed in the direction they’d walked off in.
Sirus was silent, his gorgeous purple gaze studying my face with far more attention than I wanted. “I need to fix your hair,” he finally said.
I blinked.
My hair?
That’s what he was thinking about?
“It can wait,” I said.
His eyes darkened. “Don’t deny me the privilege of caring for my mate, Sway.”
Don’twhat?
“It’s fine. I’ll just put it in a bun.” I started to get up, but he dragged me back down.
Onto his lap.
On top of his erection.
Our eyes were practically glued together.
His fingers tightened on my hips, where he had grabbed me. He lifted me again, spun me around, and then set me back down on his lap, far enough forward that he wasn’t digging into me anymore.
My body tensed as his fingers undid the ties at the ends of my braids, and then began unweaving them.
“What happened while I was asleep?” Sirus asked me, his voice low but calm as his fingers began to weave strands of my messy hair.
“Um.” I bit my lip.
He waited.
Of course he waited.
“I talked with Ivy and Ayla. Me and Ayla went to sleep, and Ivy stayed awake. They woke me up like five minutes ago and said I needed to get you up so we could leave. Left to give us privacy.”
“Where did you sleep?” There was a dangerous tone to his voice that made me a little uncertain.
“Over there.” I gestured to the uncomfortable place where I had slept like a rock.
“Alone?” His word was a growl.
“Of course. Who would I hook up with? Flood? Ayla? We both know Ivy and Flame are obsessed with each other.”
He tied the end of one of my braids. “You’re safest next to me.” His voice was still growly, but he seemed to be trying to regain control of it.
