Page 11 of Sin with Me

“Morning.”

“Feeling better?” He moves his arms up over his head and stretches, causing the blanket to creep just below his belly button. Is he naked? Surely, he’s not naked. I would have remembered sleeping with a naked Reid Landry.

I manage to stop staring and imagining what lies under those sheets long enough to remember what I got up to do. “I am, thank you.” I hold my clothes out in front of me as if to explain myself, “I need to get dressed.”

A devilish grin spreads across his face. “Go ahead.”

I give him a curious glance then head to the bathroom.

Reid is fully dressed in basketball shorts and a T-shirt when I come out. And he’s still smiling.

“What?” I ask.

“What, what?”

“Why do you keep smiling like that? And don’t try to tell me we had sex because given my… circumstances… I’m pretty sure I would remember that.”

He laughs and walks toward me. “Oh, you would definitely remember. And I’m smiling because you weren’t this shy about getting undressed.”

I feel my cheeks flush at the memory. “Right. Sorry about that. Someone insisted I change clothes.” I narrow my eyes at him.

He laughs then shrugs one shoulder. “It’s true. I’m a bad influence. You should probably stop hanging out with me.”

I know he’s joking, but the thought of there being any seriousness behind his statement sends a stab of disappointment straight to my heart.
