"Sin,baby.Areyouokay?" I asked as I helped her stand up and rearrange her shorts back to their original position.

"I love you, Kai." Well, that wasn't what I asked, but I'd take it.

"I love you too baby." I chuckled and kissed her gently. Her hair was a mess. I guess being fucked over a kitchen counter will do that to a person's hair. "Baby, your hair looks like you stuck a penny in a light socket."

Sin took a hair tie off her wrist and tossed her hair up and into a messy bun. "Perfect." She smiled as she kissed me.

The two of us talked about our plans going forward. We didn't get very far, we just that we would make it work somehow. I told her I would quit the practice and apply at hospitals close to her.

She insisted that I stay in Lakewood, at the family practice and close to my mother. I laughed when she mentioned my mom because the truth was that my mother would up and leave that town for the chance to be around her granddaughter.

"What's taking so long?" Cal came bursting into the apartment.

"We're hungry!" Aine stood next to Cal. He found his new best friend. We were all in trouble.

I looked over at Sin. Her eyebrows raised and a grin on her face.

"Are we in trouble?"

We both laughed at the offended look on their faces.

"Kai, they're twins!"

"Mom! I'm prettier than Uncle Cal!" Aine faked offense over her mother's comment. Sinclair laughed so hard I heard the snort that snuck its way out with her giggles.

"Oh, God. Why don't you two men take all this down to the pool? Aine and I will be down soon." Sin kissed me and handed me a tray of food, and then passed one to Callum.

"Let's go. Seems like you had a little snack in here while we waited outside, starving." Cal said looking back and giving Sin a wink. I wanted to smack my brother, but Sin took care of that for me. Before we got to the front door, an orange hit Cal on his ass, and I laughed hysterically.

"Mom! I'm not allowed to throw food. Why can you?" "Here baby girl. I'll let you this once." "What the hell Sin?" Cal exclaimed.

"Callum, be a good uncle and hold still."

"No! That fucking hurt!" He rubbed at the spot where the orange made contact.

Sin chuckled as Aine took her orange and went to throw it. I kept walking to the door but didn't expect to be the one hit with the fruit.

My brother's taunting laughter, joined by my daughter's proud giggles was the best sound ever. Cal hadn't laughed like that since my father died.

"Aine. What the..." I didn't want to finish that sentence. I didn't think of hell as a bad word, but Sin might not like me using it with our daughter.

"I got you Uncle Cal" Aine winked at Cal, the bond already forming between the two of them was apparent and unbreakable. "But I still love you dad."

"We are so screwed." Sin let out a laugh as we walked out the door.

A little later, Sin and Aine rejoined our group. It was a fun family day. The new additions to our little tribe fit in seamlessly.

I hoped whatever happened between Noah and Mia worked out. My brother looked happy as he played with Mia's hair while she relaxed in the in-ground spa. Something I didn't expect my brother to do. It was a little strange, but the blissed-out expression on his face suited him.

Cal was head over heels for a woman who put him in the friend zone on day one. It was funny and sad at the same time. I really liked Millie and her working with Cal had done my brother a lot of good. He has come out of his quiet shell and been more social with us.

Then there's Aine, that kid brought out a side of Callum that I hadn't seen in years. I loved the bond they were quickly forming, but I worried that my daughter would pick up some of Cal's bad habits.

Mostly his rebellious nature and stubbornness.

Tess was busy with her nose in a book. Typical Trouble Tess. Every once in a while, I'd catch her sneaking a glance at Sin's friend Dani. It was obvious the two had formed a friendship, but Dani didn't seem like she played for the same team as Tess. Plus, she and the twin to the douchebag had a thing going on.

I felt bad for Tess. Since we were all kids, she'd known she was gay. Her parents, sister, and all of us accepted her and loved her for who she was. We were happy for her being true to herself, but our small community wasn't as kind. Tess being Tess, made sure to give our town something to gossip about. Earning her the nickname Trouble when she was barely thirteen.
