Mia had my hair back from my face as I finished heaving up any food that lingered in my gut. I sat back into her arms and leaned my head on her shoulder.

"Remind you of anything?" I asked her, trying to catch my breath.

"Only the best parts of high school that I can't remember." Mia laughed. We spent many Friday nights with me holding her hair while she puked in whatever toilet was closest. I usually volunteered to be the designated driver because drinking in an unsafe environment scared me too much.

Millie handed me a wet paper towel. I thanked her and wiped my face with it. I looked up and caught Danielle and Tess flirting with each other as they kept watch over the bathroom. What the hell happened between yesterday and today?

"When did that happen?" I quietly ask Mia.

"I'm not sure, but they shared Danielle's bedroom last night."

"And who did you share a room with at Danielle's? Because I know how small her apartment is." I gave Mia a knowing look. Something really was between her and Noah.

"Babes." She sighed. "Let's get you back out there before Kai tries to push through our guardians."

"They are perfect for each other." I laughed as Mia and Millie helped me up. Millie was quiet the entire time. Listening and observing.

"A little too perfect." Mia's face had the most exaggerated expression of disinterest on it. She was happy her sister found someone; we both were. I hoped it didn't hurt either of them in the end.

My stomach chose to behave for the rest of the evening. As long as I stayed away from the smell of the beer. I hoped that whatever was going on with my stomach, was well and gone before Aine got home in a couple of days.

The girls and I were telling Noah and Callum about Aine when my phone started to ring. I glanced at the screen and read Eric. That was a big No Thank you. I hit Ignore and went back to my conversation.

It didn't take long for his text to come in:

Sinclair, please talk to me. I didn't do anything wrong last night.

I ignored the text also. Danielle looked at me with a questioning expression. "Just some asshole who never learned how to properly talk to a woman," I told her, and she gave me a comforting smile.

"We can always kick his ass still." Tess volunteered.

"I got your back, Trouble." Callum nodded and tipped his glass in

Tess's direction.

"You. Do not get to call me that, Cal." Tess glared at him.

"Okay. for one, I can't believe you still call Tess Trouble. For two. Why is it you guys can talk about and encourage violence on a guy who got what he deserved last night by my digestive pyrotechnics, but the second I mention lighting one fucking fire..."

Before I could finish my question, everyone starts laughing. Well, almost everyone. Danielle and Millie seemed completely lost.

"You wanted to burn your mom's house down, babes," Mia said through her laughter.

"Wait, what?" Danielle asked, giving me a look like she was seeing me for the first time.

I laughed so hard; I started choking on my water. I shrugged at Danielle's questioning gaze. "You guys are going to scare poor Millie away before she even gets to know me."

"Oh. I heard the stories of all the fires you set when you guys were kids." The quiet little redhead finally spoke up.

"For your information, I did not start as many as these idiots," I pointed at Noah, Cal, and Kai, "would make it seem."

Tess held up four fingers, mouthing the number to Danielle and Millie. It didn't surprise me in the least bit to see Tess throw me under the bus.

"Not as much as I want to hear about these four fires."

Before I could defend my teenage arson antics, my phone started to ring again.

"Fuckin hell. I swear if he doesn't leave you alone, I'm going to cut off his dick" Mia said unexpectedly. I gave her a loving smile.
