But the expression on his face told me he needed to know that I loved him as much as he loved me. I started to cry again, silently, happily.
"I love you, Kai. I always have and I always will. You're the hero of my fairytale. You chase away my demons and light up my darkness. I need you, Kai. I am broken and incomplete without you." I sobbed, and just as he rode that last pulse, the last bit of orgasm, he pulled me to him and kissed me.

Kaiexplainedwhathappenedat his hotel while we showered together, and back in Lakewood, Millie thanked him for giving her a part-time job as a receptionist at his office. They were walking together back to Callum's bar when I drove up to Kai's office.
I was the worst person in the world for leaving the poor girl alone for an entire week. Kai assured me she was fine. That didn't change the guilt festering inside me because I jumped to conclusions.
After we dressed, I checked my phone for any missed calls or texts from Aine. No missed calls or unread texts, so I had to assume everything was fine. I decided to send her a text, just to let her know I was thinking of her.
She replied almost immediately:I love you too, momma. Camping is freaking AWESOME!! We have to do this with dad, and Aunt Dani and Aunt Mia and Aunt Tess!
I smiled and told her we would make something happen and to have fun and I loved her.
I told Kai about our texts, and he laughed.
"I have a feeling her uncles will be hurt if they're left out of this family camping trip." He spoke.
"As if they would even let us plan a camping trip without Noah taking charge." We both laughed and he kissed my forehead.
I let out a long sigh, it was time to meet up with everyone else. A part of me wasn't ready for the two parts of my life, my past and my present, to come together like this, but fate had other plans. We met at the pizzeria that we took Aine to a week before. It was big enough to accommodate all eight of us. Plus, they served pizza, because Kai reminded us that our incredibly wise daughter said, 'Pizza is life'.
Our not-so-little group took up the largest pub table in the place.
Kai and I were the last to arrive.
I hugged Noah and Callum; I didn't realize they were with Kai at the club last night. Cal introduced me to Millie, who sat at the table quietly.
"Hi, Millie. I am so sorry for being such a bitch and I hadn't even met you." I hugged the sweet girl. A yellow tint, the telltale sign of a fading bruise, circled one corner of her mouth. I remember those marks more than Id care to. My heart broke for Millie.
"Seriously, don't stress. I'm a total stranger, and I get it." She laughed. I liked her laugh; it was light and carefree. "Besides, Kai is the last
Carter brother I'd ever be interested in."
She didn't say it as an insult, with no tone of disgust or distaste in her voice, just plain honesty. I think I love this girl. I started laughing and sat down between Mia and Kai.
Kia didn't take her comment the way I did, he looked genuinely hurt. I gave him a questioning glance.
"What's so wrong with me?" He asked feigning a wounded ego.
"Besides the fact that I'm close to cutting off your dick and gifting it to Sin, give me a couple of hours and I'll think of something," Danielle answered, not giving anyone else a chance.
The entire table erupted in laughter. Both Callum and Noah admitted to liking Danielle. Tess stared at her like a teenage girl with a crush. Oh boy, Tess had it bad. I was afraid that one best friend would break another best friend's heart.
We ordered some pizzas and a couple of pitchers of beer. Kai went to pour me a glass and the scent of the barley and hops overwhelmed my nostrils. I suddenly felt dizzy and nauseous. I pushed my way from the table and into the women's restroom.
I barely made it to an open stall before my body expelled the contents of my stomach. What little there was since I hardly had an appetite all day.
"It's okay baby." Kai held my hair back. In a public restroom, a women's restroom.
"For the love of God, give her some room Doctor boy," Danielle called from behind Kai. I wanted to smile, but another dry heave hit me.
"Go, Kai. We got this. Go find her a glass of water."
"Fine. It's most likely the aftereffects from whatever was in her drink last night." Kai rubbed my shoulders and left the restroom.
