What was she deciding?

“I want my life back,” she yelled at him.

“Fine,” he said.

An engine roared to life.

“It’s about fucking time, get in.”

I was jostled. They were trying to hand me up to someone. It was now or never.

I lurched free and looked up in time to realize they were jumping into the back of a shitty old truck.

I knocked my knee on something metal and fell to the ground.

“Get her. Don’t let her get away.”

Two sets of hands grabbed for me and I shifted without thinking. Their hands grabbed at air as my human form disappeared.

I ran, pushing my newly discovered legs forward.

I can smell you. We are close.Devon’s voice pushed me forward.

I could hear them. Hear the wolves growls and snarls. I was close to free.

And then something landed on top of me, a net. It closed in around me and I was dragged behind the trucks as they sped away.

My wolf yipped and howled.

Devon, please. They have me.

His massive wolf charged out onto the road as I was pulled in. My head snapped back as they yanked me onto the back of the truck.

Kiara, I am coming. Do whatever you can to get away.

His wolf was so close to keeping up and then there was a bang and my heart froze.

I howled just before something hit my head and the world went black.
