Page 28 of Mine To Take

She laughs. “So, will you extend your stay?”

I want to, so much. I shake my head. “I have to get back to work. I have meetings to attend and I have to finish working on the app, hire more software engineers, finish the architecture for the…”

“Yeah, yeah I get it. You’ll soon bury yourself under a mountain of work again.” She sighs. “Goodnight, kiddo. See you when I see you.”

“See you when I see you,” I reply, smiling.

After the call, I head to the shower. I’m sure Maddie would love Cora, and Cora would love Maddie. They’d hit it off and talk about fashion, design, and art and probably forget about me. Then I’d have to beg to steal Cora away…

I stop the train of thought as it gathers speed.

Where’s all that coming from, Tristan? They’re never going to meet. You have only a few days left with Cora, and after, you’ll likely never see her again.

I’ll never see her again.

I turn on the hot water and close my eyes.

Don’t break her heart.

As if. Cora won’t fall for me in just a few days.

Even though I’ve already fallen for her.

Sighing, I turn the water to cold, waiting a full minute before turning it off and emerging from the shower. After drying myself, I get into bed, naked, like I always do. This time, however, my dick is heavy and almost fully aroused.

And I can’t bring myself to stop thinking of Cora.

Ineffective or not, I’m probably going to need a lot of cold showers in the coming days.

The next morning,I explore the city alone. It’s not the same without Cora’scompany and commentary. Without her, it’s just not as enjoyable.

At noon, just as I arrive at Cora’s place and step out of my car, she appears on the balcony, dressed in a brightly patterned summer dress with little straps around the shoulders. In my head, I pull the straps down her arms, slowly, then taste the sun-warmed skin of her shoulders.

She waves at me. “Hello, handsome.”

The compliment makes me grin like an idiot. “Hey, beautiful.”

Laughing, she disappears into the apartment. Seconds later, she appears at the top of the outdoor stairs and half runs down to the street. When she reaches me, my arms are open, and she walks right into them. I place a kiss on her lips, and she melts into my body, perfectly, like we were made for each other.

It’s like magic.

I inhale deeply. “You smell great.”

“Thank you.” She gives me an impish smile. “I aim to delight the senses.”

“My senses are delighted.”

Inside the car, she turns to me, still with that impish smile. “Where are we going today?”

“You’re letting me choose?”

She shrugs. “Why not?”

“Well.” I like that she trusts me. It makes me feel like I’ve done something right. “There’s an abandoned villa just a few miles outside the city I’d like to see.”

“An abandoned villa?”
