“Yeah.”

We headed out the same door Rune and Sif had. I didn’t hear screaming right away, so I wasn’t worried about running into them.

“Only Vivi?” Murmur led the way down the hall.

“Yeah, she says shit in front of Sarah, Sarah will deal with her.”

It was a known fact. Sarah would gladly kick a bitch down for disrespect. Sif might have trained, but Sarah was vicious and fought dirty. Like an angry honey badger, she did not give a fuck.

“How is Sarah dealing with all of everything?” Murmur asked.

“All of what? The whole half angel thing? She’ll be fine.” I shrugged. I might not have talked to her, but she was always fine.

“Do you know if she is going to stay or go?”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

Murmur looked a little uncomfortable. “You should really talk to her, but Heaven likes to keep the angels in a pretty tight grip. Even half angels. She has to choose. She can either leave with Tab and go to Heaven for who knows how long, maybe indefinitely, or she can stay but have her wings clipped.”

“What does that mean?”

“It means they would strip her of any angelic gifts, like her art,” Murmur said.

We rounded the corner and could hear Sif and Rune still fighting.

Murmur rolled his eyes. “Man, I hoped they were further down. I don’t want to be dragged into anything.”

“Same. Let’s just hope they are on the other side of the coffee. I did not know Sarah was going through this. I haven’t talked to her since before we found everything out. Fuck, I hope she doesn’t work today.”

“She does, but not till four.”

“How do you know that?”

“She and I hung out last night while you and Rune were on the roof.”

“Doing what?”

“Uh, talking?” Murmur’s grin told me that was not all they were doing.

But who was I to judge?

“You know you hurt her, I kill you. Right?”

“I assumed. You know you hurt Rune and—”

“You’ll watch with popcorn and beer?” I interrupted.

“There will be a stern talking to,” Murmur said. “But seriously, he is batshit crazy over you. Don’t hurt him.”

We rounded another corner, and Rune was standing in the middle of the hall with Sif in his arms and her lips pressed against his. A knife of white-hot jealousy stabbed through me.

I looked back at Murmur. “You were saying?”
