Page 15 of Seducing His Mate

It was a simple affair, as Jenna wanted, with only family present. Trent stood at the altar, Lucas at his side, while awaiting the entrance of his bride. The yard had been transformed into a magical, honeysuckle paradise with vines, twinkling firefly lights, and candles illuminating the night wedding.

Lanterns hung from the trees, swaying in the light breeze, and a white tent dominated one corner of the property with enough food to feed a small army and their wedding cake that Jenna prepared with her own hands. No music played, both preferring the sounds of the night when they exchanged their vowels.

Crickets singing provided the beat as Diana entered first wearing a summer-yellow sundress, holding a bouquet of honeysuckles and yellow roses. She was pretty, but nothing compared to the petite woman beneath the tree, lantern light illuminating her in golden warmth.

His chest constricted with the smile she bestowed on him, for only him, as his youngest brother escorted her to his side. Golden-brown eyes twinkled and her shoulder-length hair was glossy with curls and flowers on one side. The white dress she chose dragged the grass with each step. It was simple, but elegant with a snug bodice that flared into multiple, chiffon layers. Bare shoulders glowed under the firefly lights and a tiny diamond necklace surrounded her throat.

As he grasped her dainty hand in his own, everyone else faded away until only he and Jenna remained. In her eyes, he glimpsed a future of love and happiness, a family, and many heated nights. Thoughts of the first encounter, when they met at the club, flashed in his mind. A deep connection had developed between them over the last year. Picnics and making love in the forest became the normal. Jenna thrived at her new bakery. He never went into the city anymore. It was as if the pieces fell into place as soon as she entered his life. He never thought to have this kind of love. He never thought to have a mate on this planet.

When he slipped a simple, rose gold, wedding band on her ring finger and finally kissed his bride, time stopped for one moment. He held the love of his life in his arms, his wife, as his bear rumbled his approval low and deep. A sassy grin spread on Jenna’s face when her bear returned the sentiment.

“I love you, Mrs. King,” Trent whispered, for her ears only.

“I love you, Mr. King,” Jenna whispered, with a naughty smile, against his lips.
