“You should probably get a pill,” he said. “The condom kinda failed big time there, if you know what I mean.”

Of course, it did. That was just the tip of an awful day.

The minuteI pulled open the door to my home, I heard an accusatory, “Where have you been?”

I glanced over at the dining room where my twelve-year-old brother was sitting with his arms crossed, looking every inch like a disapproving father. He pushed his glasses up his nose.

“You weren’t answering your phone,” he said, sounding incensed at the thought. “And you’ve been out all day without any contact.”

“Yes, I’m sorry, Emmett,” I said, walking to him tiredly. “My phone died, and I didn’t have a charger. I just had a bad day, and I guess time got away from me.”

“Funny. That’s what Mom used to say.”

The insult hit its mark. “I’m nothing like Mom.”

“No? Then stop acting like her.” He pushed his glasses up his nose. “I made Angel some ramen noodles and a milkshake because she kept crying, asking where you were.”

My heart squeezed as I thought of my littlest sister. Ever since my mom took off, she’d been very attached to me and saw me as a replacement mother figure.

“I didn’t make it right, and I’m pretty sure I burned the pot,” Emmett continued.

“Where’s Bethany?” I asked. She was supposed to be supervising whenever Emmett cooked anything.

He shrugged. “I don’t know. She hasn’t come back home yet.”

Panic spiraled through me. “What do you mean she’s not home yet?” I told her earlier that she would be babysitting the kids.

Emmett shrugged as I pulled out my phone and immediately dialed Beth’s number. It went straight to voicemail, so I also called her boyfriend, Manny.

“Hello?” he sounded sleepy when he answered.

“Hi, Manny. Is Beth there?”

“No.” He seemed annoyed by the question. “She was supposed to come over and hang out, but then she kept trying toget me to go to this club, and when I told her I didn’t want to, she went off on me.”

“What club?”

“I dunno. It was called Onyx or something.”

My heart froze. Club Onyx. It was rumored to be one of the more dangerous clubs in the city. Gangs hung out there all the time. Also, two people got shot there last week.

And Bethany was there now.

I hung up and told Emmett to lock the door behind me as I ran out.

LUCA

“We have a problem.”

Brandon walked in while I was sitting at my desk, staring at the wall. I’d been doing that for the past few minutes, but that in itself wasn’t unusual. I typically had a lot of shit on my mind.

However, at the forefront of them right now was the woman who had just left my office, taking her feisty spirit and flashing eyes with her.

That memory was combined with the dirtier recollections I had of her—her head thrown back as she lustfully gyrated on my dick, her fingers trembling against the wall, begging me for more…

“Luca, are you listening to me?”
