“I don’t really know what I’m into,” I answer truthfully, because I seriously don’t.
“That’s a damn shame.”
“Is it?” I feel like I’m under some sort of spell. A spell I can’t seem to break.
“It is. You should try new things to see what you’re into.” He tilts his head, and I can feel his hot breath against my cheek, his hard body pressed against mine. “You don’t experiment with your boyfriend?”
At the mention of my boyfriend, the fog of desire clears enough for me to see that I am in danger of royally screwing up this assignment. No pun intended. “Um, no. We just have sex the normal way,” I say as he tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear.
“The normal way?”
“Yeah, like two normal adults.” I force my feet to move away from his sensual allure.
He backs up so his eyes can bore into mine. “You’ll have to show me what that’s like.”
So many thoughts flood my mind. Does he want a video of my imaginary boyfriend and me having sex? Or is he asking me to physically show him how to have normal sex?
I bet any type of sex with this man would be epic.
Besides, what exactly is abnormal sex? I should ask him to show me what that’s all about.
Yet, when I think about asking him anything, my tongue stops working and instead I just blink up at him like an idiot who can’t speak.
He runs his thumb across my cheek, his eyes tracking the action. “He’s a lucky man.”
I hold my breath the entire time his skin is in contact with mine.
He pushes off the wall and leaves me standing next to the viewing room. Out of breath, and completely turned on. A bit confused as well.
The lust-filled fog that had settled over my brain when I was alone with Devereaux has finally cleared.
The night has picked up, and when I head back into the server area after dropping off a check to a table, Devereaux is there.
Luna walks into the small area. “Did you hear?” she asks me, ignoring him.
I shake my head. “No, what?”
“Benedict Cole is coming in tonight. What I wouldn’t give for five minutes alone with him. I’d show him heaven if he’d let me.”She brings her fingers to her lips in a chef’s kiss, and Devereaux rolls his eyes.
“Who is Benedict Cole?”
“Only the hottest man to exist on planet Earth.”
I laugh a little because I couldn’t imagine anyone hotter than the man standing next to me. “Sounds dreamy,” is all I can say.
“And remember, we don’t talk to him,” Devereaux says, crossing his arms.
“Why can’t we talk to him?” I ask, trying to seem nonchalant as I grab a cloth and spray bottle off the shelf to clean another table of mine.
“He’s a VIP member. Like the cream of the crop or something. He sits in the room upstairs all by himself all night long,” Luna answers.
I glance up at the upper level, seeing the room she’s talking about. “What’s in there?”
Luna laughs. “Who knows?” She glances at Devereaux. “What’s in there, boss?”
“None of your business.” He steps out of the alcove, looking over his shoulder before he leaves. “Try not to make a scene when he shows up, please.”
Luna rolls her eyes at him after he’s gone. “It was only one time. Ginger and I fangirled all over Benedict one night. We just couldn’t help it. He’s that yummy.”
