“I love you too.” I hooked my arms around his neck and never wanted to let him go.

“VP, I’m going out first.” Copper opened the door and raised his hands. “Where’s your warrant, assholes?”

“Shit,” Raul hissed and reared back. “Don’t do anything stupid.”

“This club is my life. Track is my brother, and I will protect him.” Copper went outside like a fearless warrior. “It’s me you want. Leave everyone else alone.”

“Stupid son of a bitch.” Espada followed after Copper.

“Shut your damn mouth. That’s an order,” Raul hollered at Copper on his way out the door.

I froze, watching the mayhem Dorian incited unfold outside. “Damn you, Dorian. I know you wanted my girl only because you couldn’t have me. You dirty son of a bitch. I hate you so much.”

Two policemen approached Copper.

“Down on the ground with your hands on your ginger head,” one officer shouted. The others were shielded by the car doors, guns drawn and pointed at Copper, Espada, and my husband.

“Make me,” Copper replied and extended his arms in a challenging manner.

“Get on the ground,” Raul barked as he bent to his knees with his hands on his head.

My ears dialed into the sound of ATVs coming from behind the house. If it was Track returning with Brynne, I would lose my mind.

Three officers charged toward Copper. Two others handcuffed Raul and Espada.

Panic exploded in my chest.

A few more officers made their way toward me. I’d never been in this sort of situation before. Usually, Storm was around taking care of everything, so the old ladies weren’t exposed and vulnerable.

“Ma’am, you need to come with us,” the policewoman said.

“Okay. I’ll come,” I replied calmly.

The hum of the ATVs grew louder, and I couldn’t believe my eyes. Ryder and Cash appeared, both coming from opposite directions. Cash slowed to a stop and put his hands up. Deputies had him handcuffed within seconds.

But Ryder? He didn’t stop and rammed his ATV against the side of one police vehicle, then a second.

A gun went off.

I screamed.

Ryder fell off the ATV, and officers were on him like flies on a piece of rotten fruit.

“Let’s go.” The woman nudged me in the back.

“Raul?” My feet refused to move. I wanted to run to my man and check on Ryder. I couldn’t tell where he’d been shot.

“Keep your mouth shut, mama,” Raul growled. “Wait for our lawyer before you tell these assholes anything.”

“Wow, he sounds like a winner,” the woman said.

“And you sound like a bitch,” I shot back. “You have no business taking me in or them.”

“Right. Because you’re all innocent.”

“That’s right. And you’re all idiots for listening to a vindictive man. He’s making fools out of you!”

“Just get in the car.” She shoved me into the backseat.
