“Thanks!”
“I think we should get rid of Stevie. She seems like trouble.”
“It’s your club. Do what you think is best.”
“You’re right.” He stood in the doorway, and his gaze lowered to my chest. He rubbed his dick, and a flash of lust sparked in his gray depths. “Tonight?”
I knew exactly what he was asking.
“Yes, unless you’re not in the mood.”
“Christ woman. Don’t be ridiculous. With you, I’m always in the mood.” He went back into the bathroom.
“If that’s true, why haven’t you touched me in two days?” What was he doing?
“Because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to control myself. Sue me for trying to be patient and respectful.”
I pressed my hand to my heart. Oh my gosh, I could cry.
He reappeared with a towel in his hand and came to the bed. He set a bottle of lube and several condom packets on the table.
“Got everything you need there?” I tilted my head and smirked.
“The towel is to go under your butt in case you bleed a little. The condoms are to prevent pregnancy.”
“And the lube.” He better not think he was going to get my ass in addition to my pussy tonight.
“You might not get wet enough. The lube will help with the condoms.”
“Seems you’ve thought of everything.”
The corner of his lip curled. “It’s been all I could think of since you said you wanted me to be your first.” He went to the dresser, opened his drawer, and removed a small box. “I bought you something to mark the day.”
“To mark the day I lost my virginity? Is that a thing?”
“I don’t know. It’s just something I wanted to do for you. Open it.” He sat on the edge of the bed next to me.
I stared at the square black box. There couldn’t be a diamond ring in it. We weren’t a couple, only friends, and we barely knew each other.
“Open it.” He nudged my hand. “Don’t freak out. It’s not what you’re thinking.”
I lifted the lid, and I teared up. Staring back at me was a gold ring with a rose on top and a ruby in the middle of it.
“I saw it in the window of an antique store the other day when I was in town. Thought you should have it.”
“I… I love it.” A tear skittered down my cheek.
“Then why are you crying.” He took the ring out of the box and slipped it onto my ring finger on my right hand.
“Because nobody has ever given me something so beautiful.”
“Damn, you make my heart ache.” He caressed my cheek and pulled my lips toward his. “You deserve so much more.”
“I feel like I struck gold with you.”
“Stop talking.” He sealed his lips to mine, and I melted.
