“No, it’s fine. Everything is ready.” I twisted my lips, making sure I hadn’t forgotten anything.

“I’ll rally the troops.”

“Thank you.” I exhaled a satisfied breath, stupidly happy at where I was and what I was allowed to do. Micah was a huge part of it, of course.

We skipped the formalities and served ourselves family-style, passing around the lasagna, salad bowl, and garlic bread. It felt like Thanksgiving with eight people at the table, only with Italian food instead of turkey and all the fixings.

“You’re lucky to live here.” Stevie took a bite of the bread, keeping her gaze locked on me. “I would doanythingto get to live here too. The place is incredible.”

“Keep on dreaming,” Micah replied in a harsh tone. “Club girls don’t live at the compound. Only old ladies that we claim.”

“So then, what’s her title?” She was referring to me. “Espada said she wasn’t a club girl.”

“I’m not. And I don’t have a title.” I sipped my wine, annoyed at her rudeness.

“Then what are you? The hired help?”

“Excuse me?” I set my glass down. “The help?” How dare she say that to me? I shot Micah a look to do something before I did.

“She’s my friend, and you better watch it with all the questions.” Micah pointed his middle finger at Stevie and gave her a warning glare.

“Friend? Then why did Espada say she sleeps with you?” Stevie cut her eyes at Espada. “That’s what you said.”

“Did he?” Micah growled.

Shit, dinner wasn’t going as I expected. I grimaced at Fawn, who looked as uncomfortable as I felt. She didn’t seem to fit in with this rough crowd. I may not look like I did either. I hadn’t done up my hair or worn makeup since the night Micah had drugged me. I looked young, barely eighteen, though my twenty-first birthday was in a few months. But I sure as hell could handle myself when pushed.

“I only pointed out your bedroom during the tour and mentioned Destiny slept there too.” Espada fanned out his hands. “Sorry, ese.”

“Does anyone want more wine?” I gulped mine down.

Everyone shook their heads.

Before I could get up, Micah was out of his chair and brought the bottle. He filled my glass and dropped back into his chair.

Lucky and Saint, the two prospects hadn’t said a word while scarfing down their food. They were wise to keep quiet.

“I’m gonna lay down the law for you, chicks.” Micah put his arm around me. “Either of you messes with Destiny, make snide remarks or upset her in any way, I will kick your ass to the curb. You get me?”

The girls nodded with eyes as big as an owl.

Oh my God, I need to have Mr. Sexy Grump right this second.

I tracked Micah’s every move as he got ready for bed. He took his clothes off, carefully put his cut on the chair in the corner, and went into the bathroom. He slept in boxers which did nothing to contain the semi-erection he sported when we were together.

Why wouldn’t he ask me to suck him off or give him a hand job if he needed a release? Something was definitely going on with him the past few days.

He’d told me he’d follow my lead when I was ready to lose my virginity. He better have meant it.

I breathed into my palm to check my breath. All good. I removed Micah’s T-shirt I slept in and wiggled out of my panties, tossing them on the floor. I combed my fingers through my hair, adjusted myself against the pillows, and let the comforter reveal one of my breasts.

If he didn’t get the hint I wanted to have sex, he was an idiot.

My gosh, what was taking him so long?

What’s it been? Five. Ten minutes?

“Dinner was delicious,” he shouted from inside the bathroom.
