She kissed me, her fingers digging into my skin right where her face would soon be. I couldn’t stop myself from lifting her onto the counter. Her lips broke from mine, a gasp and a tiny squeal coming from her reddened lips. “The counter is cold!”
“Mm.” I grabbed one of the ties of the robe. “You don’t have anything on under here?”
“Just underwear.” She shivered, her nipples peeking through the thin fabric. “It feels nice against my skin.”
“You know what else would feel good against your skin?” Just as I was about to yank on the tie to open her robe her stomach growled so loud that her sister would have been able to hear it down the street. “We need to get some food in you first.”
She wrapped her arms and legs tightly around me. “Can we just cuddle on the couch for a bit? The lasagna will be ready soon and we’ll wake the guys up.”
Who was I to deny my omega such a simple pleasure?
I carried her to the living room and lowered onto the couch with her still wrapped around me. “I’m so glad thinking about babies woke me up.”
She lifted her head from my shoulder and looked me in the eyes with such a serious expression I thought maybe I’d messed up. Tears sprang to her eyes, and she brought her hand to my face. “You’re serious?”
“I am. I wouldn’t joke around about having babies. You do want them, right?” I leaned into her touch and fought the urge to shut my eyes.
“Yes, but maybe not for a year or two.” She ran her thumb back and forth across my cheek. “We all need some time to adjust, and you four are going to be a bit protective once I’m pregnant.”
I snorted my amusement. “Whenever it happens, I’m ready.”
There were a few moments over the past few months where I never imagined I’d see the day I’d be holding my omega. I was a bit lost, but now I knew right where I belonged.
CHAPTERTHIRTY
Cal
Kara had become the center of our world, and life with an omega was better than I could have ever hoped for. It had been a week since we’d bonded, and with each day, our individual connection grew stronger, and so did the entire pack’s.
Now that we were settled and had security protocols in place for when we went out with her, I was ready to take her out for a ride. It was self-indulgent of me to want her wrapped around me and holding on for dear life when she’d already been lavishing us with affection. She had never been on a motorcycle before, but she’d reluctantly agreed to at least try around the block a few times.
“I’m scared.” Kara held the helmet I handed her and looked from it to my bike. “What if we crash?”
“I mean… the possibility is there, but I’m the best driver and would never put you in danger.” I took the helmet from her and put up the visor. “Trust me.”
She bit her lip and gave me a quick nod before I put the helmet over her head. I’d had it specially made for her in the hopes she’d enjoy going for rides with me.
“My dads have motorcycles, but I’ve always been too scared to ride with them.” She looked at the motorcycle again. “You’ll go slow?”
“We’ll go around the block a few times and then you can tell me if you still want to go. If it’s too scary, we’ll take a car.” I threw my leg over the seat and patted the spot behind me.
“That’s not a whole lot of space, Callum.” Fuck, I loved when she used my entire name, no matter the reason.
“It’s plenty of space. Throw your leg over and scoot all the way against me. Your feet go on these pegs.” I reached down and touched one of them. “You keep them here the whole time.”
She sighed and grabbed onto me as she got situated behind me. The heat between her legs felt amazing as she slid flush against me and wrapped her arms around me. “I can’t believe I’m doing this.”
“The second you feel uncomfortable, pinch my stomach, and I’ll pull over.” I started the motorcycle and put on my helmet. “Ready?”
“I suppose.” She had a death grip on me, and her thighs squeezed so tight against me I worried that they might cramp up on her.
I knew that once we got out on it, she’d love it, but right then, she was shaking slightly and scared we were going to crash. My purr rumbled through me, adding to the rumble of the bike, and she relaxed slightly against me.
“Here we go.” I took off slowly out of the garage to the gate, which opened automatically as it sensed the vehicle. “You okay so far?”
“I’m good so far. It’s just really weird. Do I put the visor thing down so I don’t get a mouth full of bugs?”
“We’ll wait. We’re only going fifteen to twenty miles per hour in the neighborhood. Plus, I want to be able to hear you. Here we go. Just do what we talked about.” I pulled out of the gate and was happy to see there were no paparazzi staked out since we’d done a quick interview on video call the day before.
