Page 81 of Their Perfect Omega

It already felt so amazing, I could only imagine how strong our pack would become and I couldn’t wait.

Our journey might have started a mess, but now everything was exactly like it should be.Perfect.

CHAPTERTWENTY-NINE

Avery

I’d always felt like I’d been missing something from my world, and when Alvaro, Tate, and Cal came into my life, some of the void inside me was filled. For a while, the three of them were enough, but my heart craved an omega.

We were young when we did Omega Match the first time, barely able to take care of ourselves, let alone an omega. While other alphas made sure they had a secure foundation before even entertaining the idea of welcoming an omega into their fold, we were barely making enough to afford a decent-sized rental.

Maybe all the pain from that mess-up was a necessary step to get where we were now, bonded to an omega who made me feel like I’d finally found home. We were more than prepared to take care of our omega, and hopefully a baby or two soon.

I’d thought about babies more and more since meeting Kara, and I couldn’t wait until we decided to expand our family. There was no rush, though. We were all still young, and Kara probably wanted to enjoy her freedom after spending the last six years stashed away.

Thoughts of Kara filled my mind, and I stirred awake, ready to wake her up with my face between her legs. Unfortunately, the narrow spot between me and Tate was empty, and the mattress was cold. I could sense Kara though, like a warm caress in my chest. She was nearby, and our bond thrummed with contentedness.

We’d had a long afternoon of completing our bonds, and everyone else was still asleep. It was just supposed to be a nap, but judging by the hunger pang in my stomach, it was well past dinner time.

I carefully crawled out of the nest and stood, going into the bedroom to find my omega. I needed to wrap my arms around her and take in her delicious scent. Four piles of clothes were carefully folded on the end of the bed, and I grabbed mine, bringing them to my nose when I caught her scent wafting from them.

She’d scented them.

My skin broke out in goosebumps at how perfect it was, and I quickly pulled on my boxers and lounge pants, tossing the shirt back on the bed. I didn’t plan on keeping my clothes on for very long.

As I walked out of the bedroom and down the hall, I could hear our music coming from downstairs. It was always weird hearing it when we weren’t singing it ourselves.

Kara came into view as I descended the stairs, busy in the kitchen and shaking her ass to the upbeat song. She was wearing the blush pink satin robe we’d hung in the bathroom for her, and it clung perfectly to her curves and stopped at just the right spot on her thigh to leave me drooling.

She turned with a mixing bowl and jumped a little when she saw me. “Don’t sneak up on a girl like that. I almost dropped the bowl.”

“What are you up to? You should be resting.” I padded into the kitchen, looking at the pile of dishes in the sink and then at the clock on the microwave. It was nearly eight o’clock. “You didn’t have to cook, Kara. We have pizza on speed dial.”

“I know, but I wanted to.” She smiled and poured brownie batter into a pan. “I enjoy cooking and now that I have this amazing kitchen and a pack, it makes it even better.”

She shook the glass pan to even out the batter and slid it into the oven, setting the timer. Brownies were my favorite, even more so now that their smell reminded me of her.

I couldn’t resist wrapping my arms around her and pulling her back against my chest, burying my face in her neck. “I was hoping to have you for dinner and dessert.”

She leaned back against me, her hands going to my arms and stroking them. “We have all the time in the world for that, but if we don’t eat, we’ll perish, and there won’t be any more orgasms.”

“We can’t let that happen.” I kissed where I’d marked her neck, happy to see my bite was already healing. “Do you need help finishing?”

“Everything is cooking. Just have to wake everyone up in a few minutes.” She flicked on the light in the other oven, and I spotted a lasagna. “This is what I was cooking as a surprise when everything happened. Anya said it’s your favorite.”

“I’m so sorry you had to go through that. We should have canceled our concert.” There were a lot of things I regretted about how we handled her heat, and leaving her miles away from us unprotected was unacceptable. “It will never happen again. I promise you that.”

“There was no other choice. None of us could have known they would find out and come after me.” She turned and looped her arms around my neck. “You took perfect care of me given the situation.”

“But that shouldn’t be the situation. Life on a tour bus isn’t the best, even for us.” I kissed her forehead and swayed to the ballad that had started playing from her phone. “We have one more album and tour under this contract.”

“I’ll just be on suppressants when we’re about to go on tour. I would love to travel around the country or the world with you. Don’t think you have to give up your music career for me.” She put her head on my shoulder, one of her hands sliding from around my neck to trace around the empty space just left of the center. “Your whole torso is covered except this spot.”

I covered her hand with mine. “I wanted to save the place right over my heart to put your portrait.”

She lifted her head, her blue eyes swimming with tears. “Avery…”

“I know, it’s corny as fuck, but-”
