“Look at me,” he ordered in a voice gruff with desire.
She slammed open her eyelids immediately and found herself enmeshed in his gaze. The heat of his passion darkened in his unique light blue eyes. She lifted her hips to meet his next thrust. The spark flared hotter. Their bodies strained together as sensations more vibrant than she’d ever imagined flared into lifeinside her as her world shrank to include just the small space around them.
With a cry, Cynthia felt the orgasm cascade through her—her body clenching around him as she rode the pleasure. She held onto him, needing him close. He surged forward and filled every infinitesimal bit of space inside her. Cynthia felt him swell inside her and couldn’t tell where she ended and he began.
His resounding shout into the room made her press kisses to his throat. “Cynthia!”
Their bodies slowed and rested against each other for support as they regained their breath. She loved the feel of his heart pounding against hers. Breathing deeply, Cynthia tried to memorize the earthy scent of their passion. She pressed her lips to his shoulder and tasted the saltiness of his skin and the underlying spice that was Dirk’s unique flavor.
When his body slid from hers, Cynthia missed the connection. She clung to Dirk.
“Shh, Little girl. I’m not going anywhere.” He quickly took care of the condom and gathered her back into his arms. “Go back to sleep, sweetheart. I’ll be here when you wake up.”
“Promise?” she asked in a muffled voice against his chest.
He kissed the top of her head and hugged her close for a few seconds before answering, “I promise, Little girl.”
“Daddy?”
“Yes, Cindy girl?”
“I’m glad I found you.”
“Best day ever,” he agreed before ordering in a stern Daddy voice that made her smile against his skin, “Go to sleep.”
“Yes, Daddy.” Cynthia closed her eyes and cascaded into sleep. This time, her dreams were very happy.
CHAPTER 10
“Good morning, Little girl.” Strong arms cuddled her gently as he pressed a soft kiss against her lips.
“Daddy?” Cynthia didn’t want to open her eyes.
“No one else better kiss you awake,” he said with a chuckle.
“Oh!” She looked up at him and smiled. “I was afraid this was a dream and I’d wake up to find it had all been in my imagination.”
“If my dreams were that phenomenal, I wouldn’t want to have them disappear, either.”
Cynthia could feel her face heat in response to his intimate praise. Bravely she whispered, “It was more than I’d ever imagined.”
“You were perfect—so responsive and delectable. I’m very sorry I have to go to work today. I’d work from home if I could, but I have an appointment in court this morning and judges simply don’t understand if lawyers don’t show up.”
“Oh, no. You have to go. I’ll be fine here. I’ll stay in the guestroom if that’s okay.”
“It certainly isn’t. You’ll enjoy the entire house and the backyard. I’ll show you how to work the TV and you can relax on the couch with Bullyboo.”
“Do you have any cookbooks?” she asked.
“I’m afraid I don’t,” he said regretfully.
“Today, you have time to take it easy. I expect you may be tender this morning from our lovemaking,” he suggested thoughtfully.
Cynthia’s face flamed red, and she tentatively squeezed her thighs together. How did he always know these things?
“I’ll just laze around,” she promised.
“Perfect. We’ll get up and have breakfast together before I need to leave.”
