“Please.” My voice didn’t sound like me. It sounded like someone who had sex all the time and didn’t have a problem asking for what she wanted. But I did. So, instead of asking I lifted my hips against his hard body and rocked against his cock until the first spark hit me.
“Hold on, let me cover up. Damn, Brenley you have no idea just how gorgeous you look right now.” Hayden ripped the foil packet and rolled the condom on.
“I don’t need sweet words. I just need you inside me. Now!”
He paused at my demand. Fisting the base of his impressive erection, he captured my gaze. “You don’t get this without the other, sweetheart. To me you’re the most beautiful woman in the world, so get used to hearing it.”
Heart pumping at triple time, his declaration emboldened me. I stroked him then guided him to my entrance. Bracing my feet, I lifted my hips and impaled myself, glorying in the lust I saw in his eyes.
Letting out a curse, he took over, burying himself in me in one swift thrust.
Wrapping my legs around his waist, I took him in even deeper and matched him stroke for stroke, my inner walls clamped around him, my cries for more answered.
He groaned my name, and my orgasm burst through me. White pinpoint sparks flashed behind my eyes. I shouted his name as he pounded over and over, rubbing my clit triggering a second orgasm that left me speechless. Finding his completion, we held each other tight, our gasps for air mingled. Hayden buried his face in my neck, then trailed open mouthed kisses along my jaw and check before kissing me long and hard as the quaking of our bodies subsided.
Chapter6
BRENLEY
It had beentwo weeks since Hayden had walked back into my life. We’d had severalrealdates. A couple dinners out where thankfully he’d managed to remain under the radar and we weren’t interrupted by too many fans. But it was also an eye opener to see how the wait staff fawned over him, and how he handled it with ease and, more importantly, kindness.
There were lots of movies after I came home from the shop and plenty of sleep overs. All at my place since the house he’d recently bought was in the middle of a renovation and he was staying with his sister.
He’d decided to live outside Pineville, in neighboring Cedar Ridge where he’d found ten acres. He was going to take me there this weekend to check it out. He loved the area and wanted the open space and privacy the small ranching community offered. The fact he was putting down some roots gave me some encouragement that maybe what was happening between us was more than just good times and spectacular sex.
This morning I went into my shop early. We had a sunset wedding to prep for and the bride had asked for a last-minute addition to her centerpieces. I began arranging the white roses and pale pink hydrangeas into the green square glass containers. Humming to myself as I added sprigs of greenery I daydreamed about what kind of bouquet I would one day choose for myself. I was always changing my mind, and this time, I allowed myself to picture Hayden as the groom. Dangerous, I know.
“Ooh, I know that look. I may have worn it myself a time or two in my twenties. What’s his name and when do I get to meet him?”
Shayla was one of the best floral designers I’d ever met and had counted myself lucky when she’d agreed to work with me a few years ago. The shop’s success and move to doing larger events had as much to do with her as my own perseverance in making All In Bloom Pineville’s premier floral design businesses.
She was also more than an employee, but I hadn’t said anything to her, or my sister, about Hayden. I wasn’t sure how long it would last and, to be honest; I liked keeping our time together private.
“You know you want to tell me. You’ve been… oh, I don’t know peppier lately. Which if you’re getting something-something from a mystery man that’d make sense.” Shayla stood across the worktable staring at me, waiting.
“Really? You see me staring at a bunch of flowers and you think that means there’s a man in my bed?” I avoided making eye contact with her because I was a terrible liar.
“Yes. Yes, I do. I’m not going anywhere. I can stand here all day.” Shay crossed her arms, squinting her eyes at me trying to will me into spilling my guts.
She couldn’t pull it off. Every time she attempted to be stern with me, which didn’t happen often, her lips would quiver and we’d both end up giggling. Her six-year-old daughter had a better evil-eye than Shay did.
Our cashier burst into the room. “Brenley, there’s a super-hot guy out front asking for you and he looks just like that guy on TV. The one they call the Silver Fox Adventurer. Is it really him?” Emma’s excitement radiated off her.
I couldn’t blame her. Whenever I saw him, I practically vibrated too. Which concerned me that maybe I was becoming too involved with him. That what had begun as something fun without any promises had turned into more than just really awesome sex. My heart had started thinking of him as mine and that was dangerous, considering I knew he’d be leaving soon to begin shooting his new show.
He hadn’t said a word about keeping in touch after he left, or even when he’d be back, for that matter. It would most likely be weeks, if not months, depending on where they were filming. So I did my best to pretend it didn’t matter.
“Yes, that’s him, Emma. Try not to overwhelm him with a lot of questions, okay? Tell him I’ll be out in a few minutes. I need to get this arrangement done.” And calm my nerves. He hadn’t told me he’d be dropping by. What he thought of my shop suddenly became a bigger deal than I’d anticipated.
“Well, well. Speak of the devil and now I know his name. I can’t believe you were keeping this news for me. What gives? I mean, no judgement if you’re only taking a walk on the naughty side, finally, or is it more?” Shay’s words held a bit of hurt in them and I instantly felt bad for keeping him a secret.
“The Devil? Shay, really. You’ve been binging Lucifer again, haven’t you?” I wasn’t upset at her teasing, but it did hit a nerve about what exactly was I doing with Hayden?
“Guilty. But you know when there’s no man in your bed, fantasizing is allowed, encouraged even. And Lucifer is my current boyfriend.”
Shay never failed to make me laugh. “Well, I’m all for fantasy lovers, and if Tom Ellis walks into your life, you don’t have to tell me.” We dissolved into giggles. She’d had a crush on the actor for as long as I knew her and, like me, didn’t date much. She’d married young and divorced young, claiming she’d do it all over again because she received the best gift ever from her unhappy marriage, her little girl. I was slightly amazed that she still believed in happily ever after, and I hoped one day she’d find love again.
Recovering quickly from our silliness, I let out a sigh. “I’m not sure I ever told you this, but Hayden and I went to high school together. We reconnected at the reunion and have been, uh…seeing each ever since. I didn’t tell you because I wasn’t sure. I’m still not sure what this thing is between us. Please don’t be mad.” I gathered up the flowers I’d pulled out earlier, placing them back into their containers, and returned them to the temperature-controlled cooler for later.
