He lets out a laugh. “No. Though it would turn you on if I said yes, wouldn’t it?”
Yes. It probably would.
“Then why are you here?” I ask, confused.
“I’m meeting someone.” He leaves it at that and my jealousy kicks in.
Who is he meeting? A woman?
“You’re much dirtier than I ever imagined, Holly. And so eager to please.” His dark eyes penetrate mine, sending my body crazy. “Did you come hard for Daddy?”
Oh God.
Hearing him talk like that is driving me insane. I wet my lips, but before I can reply, I notice someone moving toward us. My stomach knots in sheer terror because it’s Nick.
“Shit,” I breathe, my heart thumping in my chest.
That’swho he’s here with? Thanks so fucking much for the warning.
“Holly, what are you doing here?” Nick asks as he sits down beside his father.
“Work function.” I gasp out the words, refusing to look at Andrew. “I saw your dad here and just came over to say hello.” I’m talking too fast, but Nick doesn’t seem to notice. Andrew does, though. He smirks at me, enjoying how uncomfortable this is making me.
“Oh. Right.”
Nick glances at his dad, making me feel uneasy. He obviously wants nothing to do with me. I swallow hard and open my mouth again, then close it when I realize I don’t know what to say.
“I’m going to go get a drink,” Nick mutters, standing back up.
He walks off, leaving Andrew and I alone.
“I should be getting back to my work thing,” I say, feeling awkward.
“You probably should,” he agrees, his dark eyes twinkling. “It was nice running into you, Holly. I hope we can do it again soon.”
As much as I hate to admit it, I hope so too.
