Nick left her sight for a moment, then returned, scooping her into his arms. “Good girl, good girl, Mulberry, I got you. Sorry was that too much.”
She shook her head against his bare muscled chest. “No, that was perfect.”
“I’m going to take care of you now. Mulberry, it’s all right.”
“Yes, I know,” she said.
As long as his arms were around her, she’d be all right.
CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX – NICK
Nick hoped Ella Ridell got her way and added bed and breakfast cottages to Club Bandit’s property because he could use something like that right now.
“Hey, can I help?” Clara, one of Club Bandit’s submissives, asked.
“I’m here too,” Mina rushed behind the reception desk. “We can help her change. Come on, Little Cat.”
“I saw some of your scene. It was beautiful,” Clara smiled.
“Oh…” Mulberry stumbled for a moment, and Mina caught her.
“I’ll be right back. I’m just going to get the car.”
“Okay” Mulberry’s eyes were glassy.
“Thank you for your help,” Nick said to Clara and Mina.
Why did the park so far away? Or take the wrong exit. Nick circled the front of the building to the back where he’d parked his car, his phone buzzing in his pocket.
“Hi, Erik, what’s up?”
“I got Quinn with me. Put it on speaker.”
“Got it,” Nick said.
“Calling to tell you that this pro-Dom outfit checks out,” Erik said.
Nick didn’t expect anything from the agency but exhaled in relief having it confirmed.
“Yeah, maybe Erik has a new job,” Quinn said.
“I think lying about who you are to women is more your thing,” Erik said.
“Whatever, this your last job as a Bandit Brother.”
“Quinn, you can’t just tell him he’s not a Bandit Brother anymore,” Nick said dryly.
“The fuck I can’t.”
Nick rolled his eyes. The tension between these two was too much.
“Are you sure there is nothing?” He asked.
“Yes. They check people out almost as well as Xander runs them. All sessions were videotaped or photographed with Mulberry’s devices, not their own.”
“That woman was into you, the owner of the company.”
“She was not,” Erik growled.
