“If you really thought I was so bad, you wouldn’t be here, Moira. What are you trying to find out? What’s going on?”

“Did you just fuck Fiona for her virginity?”

I take a big breath and look down. I don’t want to have this conversation with anyone but Fiona. I was worried this was what she thought when she rushed off, and I’ve tried to clear up the miscommunication, but she won’t talk to me.

“No. I care very much for Fiona.”

“You were sending her away.”

“For her protection. I was only sending her to my father’s estate where I knew she would be safe until I could neutralize the threat, or until I could get more security here on the compound.” I let her take in the information before I ask my question. “What trouble is she in now?”

“Her parents are making her marry Patrick. They have the wedding set for April sixteenth.”

I turn from them, afraid the anger I’m feeling will scare them. Keeping my back to them, I squeeze my fists and try to calm myself. I’ll kill him for this.

“Brody, get Shane and Lex, now.” My voice sounds animalistic with my anger.

“What are you going to do?” Moira asks me.

I turn around and face her. “Whatever it takes to get her back.”

“How?”

“First, how did you get here?”

“I helped her,” the other girl says. “I’m Deandra. I knew where the Knight’s clubhouse was, and I knew if I could get her to him”—she points to Brody as he returns—“he would get her to you. Can you really help us?”

“How do you know where our clubhouse is, and who’s your father?”

“I’m her father, you bloody wanker.” A deep voice comes from the doorway, and we look up to see Brody’s sergeant-in-arms, Carson.

“Daddy, I had to help Moira and Fiona.” Deandra jumps up and rushes to him.

“Daddy?” Brody looks at me, and I shake my head. I didn’t know he had a daughter.

“I’m taking Deandra out of here.” He takes her hand and starts to take her from the room.

“No. I want to find out if he’s going to help Fiona. She’s my friend, Da, and I’m not going to allow you to keep me hidden from this part of your life anymore.”

“Fine.” He stands back with his arms crossed over his massive chest. His dark brown eyes are focused on me. “Well?”

“I don’t know what’s going on yet. They were just getting ready to explain.” I sit in my chair, not intimidated by him at all. He slightly nods, showing his respect. “Go on, Moira.”

“Her parents drugged and kidnapped her. Yes, she got in the car, but they drugged her and took her back to their home where they’ve kept her a prisoner.”

“I’ve tried to talk to her, but her mother states that she doesn’t want to talk to me.”

“She doesn’t know you’ve called. She thinks you’ve moved on. The only reason I came here was because I overheard the housekeeper giving your message to Mrs. Griffin.”

Lex and Shane are in the room now and listening in. I notice Lex working on his laptop as he listens. Double-checking what Moira is saying probably.

“They let you see her, but no one else?” Shane asks.

She turns to look at him. “I threatened to call the coppers if they didn’t let me see her.”

“Feck,” I exclaim as I stand up. I don’t know if she’ll ever forgive me for what she thinks I did, but I can’t let her be forced to marry that fecking tosser. I pace behind my desk as I try to come up with a plan.

“I’ve talked Mrs. Griffin into letting me throw Fi a hen party, but they want their guards with her. Can you help her?”
