“I just watch her. You tell her what she can and can’t do.” He challenges me.
I throw the phone against the wall. It shatters as I turn and storm out of the office. I take the stairs down, jumping over several. No man but me should have their hands on her, and no bloody wanker should see her knockers like that.
I push through people, trying to see her in the crowd. I’ve lost her until a group of men split. She twirls around with her eyes closed, her body moving seductively to the beat of the music. A man approaches and wraps himself around her, but she pulls away and wags a finger at him. Her eyes look glassy even from this distance, and I know she’s drunk. I pull the guy away and he goes to swing at me, but I nod over his head to Shane, who pulls him back. I wrap my hands around my beauty’s satin covered hips. She turns and starts to pull away until she sees it’s me, then she almost stumbles. I lean down into her space.
“Beautiful, what are you doing right now?” I growl against her ear, and she trembles.
“Mr. Tiernan,” she says, her voice breathless.
“Call me Aidan when I have my hands on your body,” I demand, and her doe eyes flare wide.
“I’m celebrating with my friends, Mr. Tiernan.” There’s a slight slur to her words.
“You’re dressed too sexy without a man to take care of you. How much have you had to drink, beauty?” I pull her in tight and move my hips with hers, mimicking what I want to do in the bedroom to her sweet innocent body. The song changes to a faster beat and she starts to pull away, but I keep her close to me.
I spin her around so I’m against her back. I lean down and drag my scruff against her neck, leaving a burn so other men know she has a man already. I look up and see the group of girls she must be with, most of which I recognize as her roommates from the background check I had done on her. They are watching us. A couple have smiles, but one who I know is her best friend, Moira, has her jaw locked. I raise a hand over my head and spin my finger to draw attention to us. My brothers and Shane surround the girls, moving the men away from them.
“You didn’t answer my question, beauty? How much have you had to drink?”
“That’s none of your business.” Her body stiffens.
My cock digs into her arse through my slacks as she moves her hips against me. I lean my head down again and kiss her neck. My hand reaches down to the slit in her dress exposing her thigh.
“When other men see this tantalizing tattoo, then it is my business.” Her body stiffens more, and she starts to struggle against me. I must have reached a line because Moira grabs her hand.
“Come on, Fi, time to take a break.” She pulls her away from me. Fiona turns to watch me but follows behind Moira and the other girls.
“Want me to tell the bartender to cut them off?” Rory asks as he watches them move away, his eyes on a girl that isn’t mine.
“No, let them have fun. Seamus will keep an eye on them.” I turn toward the bar in desperate need of a drink.
“Who were all the girls with her?” Rory asks.
“Mostly her roommates. The other two, I don’t know, but I’m sure Lex does.”
I watch them move to a booth across the room. Brigid leans in and talks to Fiona. She nods her head, her honey blond hair shines in the lights. I feel someone come up behind me. A hand slides across my shoulder, and that’s the moment Fiona’s eyes land on me. I see her jaw clench from this distance. I yank the woman’s hand off me and push her back as Fiona turns and storms away down the hall toward the loo.
I wait, watching for her to return. Seamus is at the head of the hallway keeping guard. When he turns and starts moving down the hall, I’m in motion knowing something isn’t right. He’s supposed to keep his distance without her knowing he’s there, so he must feel that she’s in danger. I push my way through and into the hall not far behind him.
“Where is the blonde?” he asks a woman.
“A man grabbed her and pulled her out the door. She screamed and fought him until he hit her.” Her words are ice in my veins. I barrel through everyone and slam open the door.
I hear a commotion and another scream across the parking lot. A large guy has Fiona by the arm as he punches her in the face. He kicks her in the side when she falls to the ground, and I see red. My blade is in my hand as I move without thought. He’s so engrossed in beating her he doesn’t hear me approach. I slide my knife down his back, cutting through his clothing and to his skin below. He screams, and Fiona looks up at me. Her face is starting to swell, one eye already swollen shut. I bring the knife around his throat, ready to slice it when she finally focuses on me. Her hazel eyes take me in. I stop and push him away from me.
“Take him,” I bark at Seamus as I bend down to Fiona.
“I’m going to take care of you and protect you.” My voice cracks with emotion from seeing her like this. She looks broken as I carefully lift her in my arms. Her dress is torn and muddy. I didn’t get to her fast enough and he beat her more than I saw. “Seamus, don’t kill him until I talk to him.”
“Yes, boss.”
I look around at my guys. Rage burns in my eyes, but it’s reflected in theirs too. They don’t like to see women abused. I focus on Shane and Rory standing there.
“Shane, car now, and call the doctor after you check her over. Rory, tell her friends what happened and escort them to their home along with Grady.”
“Got it, bruv.” Rory turns away.
Shane makes his way toward us, making sure she is watching him.
