“He’ll die for touching you,” he says, and I gasp.

“Don’t do that, please.”

“Do you care for him?”

“No.” I turn my eyes downward. He’s still holding my chin.

“Look at me. Why should I spare him, beauty?”

“I’m not beautiful,” I say, my voice barely a whisper. I keep eyes lowered.

“You are more beautiful than any woman I’ve ever met. It’s why I can’t stay away from you even though I should. I’m a dangerous man, beauty. You should run and never turn back.” I look up at him now, opening myself up to him and showing him what I feel.

“I don’t want to stay away from you,” I confess, and he leans down and takes my lips in a soft kiss. I can barely feel the warmth of his lips, so I push up to feel him more. He groans and licks along my lower lip. I open my mouth and he sucks my bottom lip between his teeth, then lightly nips it. I moan at the contact.

He lifts me up and moves us. My back hits something cold and hard, but my front is on fire from his heat. His lips mold to my mouth and his tongue sweeps in, commanding my tongue. I’ve never been kissed like this before. He turns his head and I mimic him, turning the opposite way so we can get a deeper contact. My hands move up and wrap around his neck, my naked breasts pressed to the front of his jacket. He lifts me up higher into his arms and holds me against him. I feel his erection against my core, and I moan again. I don’t want him to stop. I want this feeling to continue. He moves his hand into my hair, angling my head with his grip.

Aidan suddenly pulls away. I move in for another kiss, but when I look up, I find anger on his face.

“What?” he growls, and I realize someone is knocking on the door. I was so lost in his kisses I didn’t hear the knock. The door opens. “Eyes to the floor and don’t enter.” I squirm in his arms, trying to cover myself. “Don’t move.” He looks down at me.

“Boss, there is a problem at pit row.”

“Shane, take Ms. Griffin home in a moment.”

“Yes, boss.” He turns his back and stands at the open door.

Aidan carries me back into the bathroom and closes the door behind us. He releases me when my arse hits the surface of the counter. I cover my breasts and watch as he reaches into a cupboard and pulls out a shirt.

“Put this on.” He hands it to me.

“Okay.” I take the soft black shirt and slip it on over my head. It bunches at my hips. I wait for him to say something about what we just did, but instead he exits the bathroom. I jump off the counter and follow him out into the main office. Shane has his back to us still, and Aidan walks to the desk and rests his hands on it. He takes a deep breath, his muscles tight under his suit.

“You need to leave and never come back here.” He doesn’t turn toward me. “I’m no good for you.”

“But—”

“No buts about it, Fiona.” He raises his voice, still not facing me.

“You kissed me.” I reach up and touch my swollen lips.

Aidan swings around, his eyes blazing blue fire.

“Any man would kiss a beautiful half-naked woman.” His voice is gruff. I gasp and turn toward the door.

I stop before I reach the entrance. “You really are a beast like I’ve heard you called.” My voice trembles. Yeah, I did some checking up on him, and I learned this is a nickname people have given him.

“Come,” Shane says, and he leads me out to the coat check where I retrieve my jacket and purse.

The whole ride back to the flat tears roll down my face. Between Patrick calling me a whore and Aidan insinuating I’m one, I’m broken. I drop my phone on the bed and take a shower, crying until no more tears come. My first real kiss was nothing like I thought it would be. My heart crumbles in my chest.

After dealing with the situation in the pit, I head home to the compound. I’m barely through the door when security contacts me. Mikayla is demanding to know about Fiona. Shane still hasn’t returned, and I know Seamus headed out to watch over her too. He’ll keep an eye on her until I know she is safe.

I shouldn’t have kissed her, but I couldn’t stop myself. She was in my arms and all I could do was smell her sweetness, feel her small breasts pressing against my chest. Her full bottom lip was pulled through her teeth, and all I wanted to do was mark her up. When she looked up at me, I looked into her hazel-colored doe eyes, and in that moment, I was the beast ensnared by the beautiful creature before me. I wanted to eat her alive. Devour her purity and never let her go. But I can’t be the cause of her demise. I can’t sentence her to death just to be with her. So instead, I showed her my true colors. My true self. It was the only way to keep her away from me. She called me a beast, which means she knows who I really am. What the underbelly of Belfast calls me. Of course, they don’t say that to my face because they wouldn’t survive it, but I know they call me it.
