“I’ll help her. We need to come up with a plan. When is this party? How much time do we have to plan this?”
“Next month, a week before the wedding.”
“Okay, let me and my men come up with something. Carson, could you and Brody help these ladies home?”
“I’m not leaving until I know the plan. I came to you because I know the cops won’t do anything.”
“How do you know they won’t do anything?”
“Because I already tried. My father and brother said that her parents haven’t done anything illegal, and when they went to question them, Fiona didn’t contradict their statement. Something is keeping her there. So that’s why I’m here.”
“They must be threatening her in some way, boss,” Lex says, and I nod.
“There’s only a couple things that Fiona would sacrifice herself for. You and Kayla,” Moira says.
“And you.” I nod at her. She takes that in for a moment, digesting my words. “I doubt it’s me because Fiona knows that wouldn’t stop me, but if you were threatened… She won’t be able to return to your flat.”
“Why not?”
“Because her parents would just go after her again,” Brody says. “Can we bring Moira here too? She can stay at my place.”
“Oh bloody hell no am I staying with him.”
“We can’t until we bring in Fiona. We don’t want them to know Moira came to us for help. They know she would do everything above board because she’s a copper’s kid. It’s our only way to surprise them,” Lex says.
“Hello, she is right here. I’m not moving in with him. You have plenty of rooms here. I’ll stay here with Fi when she’s safe.” She cocks her head to the side and pops out her hip. My brother is going to have his hands full with her if she’s the one he wants.
“I agree with Lex, we can’t pull Moira into here yet.” I turn to Brody. “As for staying here, this isn’t my home. We’ll get you a safe place to hide out.”
“She can stay with us,” Deandra offers.
“No, she can’t, Dea.”
“Why? Because you don’t want your business to come to our door?” Deandra turns on her father.
“Enough, everyone. Carson, you and your daughter can take the northeast plot with the other girls when we need to pull them all in.” I raise my voice again. Carson nods his head, agreeing to the home I suggested.
“I’m not moving from my home.” Moira stomps her foot.
“You will need to once I get Fiona out, just until we can confirm you all are safe. I might have to open the plot across from that one too for the overflow of girls. Lex, confirm that place is ready. No one’s stayed there since Mikayla and Wesley.”
“Wait, this is where Kayla stayed after the attack at the racetrack?”
“Yes. I have several homes available for people as needed. This is just the office.”
“Now, go with Carson. I’ll be in touch as soon as we have a plan.” I pause and think about what Lex said. “Carson, can you drop them somewhere and let them go to the house without you just in case it’s being watched? I’ll have Seamus and Grady doing sweeps of the area.”
“Yes, boss.” He nods and directs the girls out.
I sit back down and start working with Lex and Shane on a plan to save my girl.
Fiona
* * *
In the last three months, I’ve avoided Patrick every time he’s come to the house. I won’t marry him, even if he’s threatening Moira. My parents aren’t doing it, but Patrick is. He’s become even more crazed than he was before. He told me if I don’t marry him, he’d kill Moira. He even showed me pictures of her going from her job to home. He’s constantly trying to get me alone, but I’ve kept my distance. Just yesterday he tried to corner me in the library, but I stomped on his foot and pushed him down as I ran from the room.
I was shocked when my parents finally let Moira come see me, and now, they are letting her throw me a hen party. But the two bodyguards Patrick hired must attend with me. My mother loves the idea that I’ll get out and people will start talking about me, and thus her. Somehow the girls sprang for exclusive passes to a brand-new club that just opened. Memories of the last time I went to a club run through my mind. But I push them back. I can’t think about that now. I still don’t know who attacked me or why. I haven’t gotten any more letters here, and sometimes Patrick says things that make me think he was my stalker. But would my parents marry me off to that crazy of a man? That’s a question I’ve asked myself several times.
