Shane
After a week and half of her blowing me off I'm at my wits end. I don't know what changed but I'll find out soon enough. Tomorrow is Saturday morning and she's getting a rude awakening. I'm showing up at her place and spending the day with her. Aidan said he is spending the day with his wife, not leaving their room, so that gives me the day off. Tonight, though he's making his rounds to his clubs and checking on them.
This club technically isn't his, but it is a part of Tiernan International and as the head of it we have to check it out. Aidan's brother Rory runs this one and it's his brainchild. When he graduated from university he got into a doctorate program in business, but now he wants to just run this club and he's already got another one set up in Dublin and is scouting out a spot for one in London.
Both Aidan and I step into the office that overlooks the club floor below.
"I wondered if you would be stopping by," Rory laughs as he looks up from his desk. When he sees Aidan, he smiles but his smile falls when he looks at me. He looks over his shoulder nervously and then back to me. "Hey Shane, I didn't expect you to stop by too."
I pause raising an eyebrow at his comment. He knows that I'm his brother's personal security and always at his side when he leaves the compound. Especially after the attack last month.
"Where else am I supposed to be?" I pause at the front of the desk my arms crossing over my chest. I'm dressed in my normal suit but today it's a blue one. My guns and knives all hidden but my size alone keeps idiots from coming after Aidan normally.
Aidan chuckles from his seat that he took facing Rory across the desk.
"You know you aren't going to be able to hide your secret much longer," his voice breaks me from my thoughts. I look down at Aidan then across to Rory.
"You have a girl you're hiding?" Rory has dated off and on, but they are never long term.
"You could say that." Aidan laughs harder.
Rory starts fidgeting in his seat and immediately stands. He turns to the window and looks out it before turning back around.
"Dating someone that works for you isn't always a good idea," I scold him as I move to walk around the desk and see if I can figure out which waitress he's sleeping with.
"Uhm it's not like that...," he starts.
My eyes find her right away and my body locks up. She's dressed in one of the tuxedo jacket dresses the servers wear. Her hair up in a chic bun at the back of her head. From this point it looks as if the jacket is open exposing her cleavage. The skirt is so short and the heels so high that she can't bend over. Her makeup makes her large, beautiful eyes stand out more, but it's the gloss on her puffy lips that has me wanting to kiss her so hard that every man in here knows who she belongs to.
"What is she doing here? And she better not be who you think you're going to sleep with next?" I growl as I turn around to look for Rory.
He's moved around the desk putting it between me and him.
"I would never scam on a woman you're interested in bruv." He holds up his hands in surrender. "Besides I don't think she's into anyone but you. She needed a job. I couldn't let her go somewhere else and not be treated with respect." I turn back to the window after I nod at him.
I watch her as she moves from the end of the bar toward some tables. Her long legs glisten in the light and I know that like several of the girls here she has a lotion on them that has sparkle in it. But it's the men that are watching her that makes my blood pump slower through my veins. I'll kill them all.
She moves to a group of men that I notice right away are watching her. One of them makes a grab for her but she expertly moves back and smiles at him. It's not a real smile though, it's tight and I can tell she's upset about something.
"Who are those men?" I demand without turning around. I hear Rory and even Aidan moving behind me.
"I don't know them, must just be a random reservation. They aren't VIP. She isn't up to that yet. She's only been working here for a week or so," Rory offers.
"I don't know them either."
This time the guy touches her leg and I'm twisting around and in motion.
"Feck he's going to kill him," I hear Rory say as I stomp from the room.
"Yes, I am," I let him know as I take the stairs two at a time down. I barely hear Aidan chuckle and affirm the observation. I'm going to kill the fucker for touching her.
Pushing my way through the crowds she doesn't see me coming and neither does he, but his friends notice me. He's got her by her wrist now and I can't hear what she is saying to him, but I can see from the look on her face that she's not happy with him touching her. She's pulling and straining to get her arm away from him.
"Come on baby, you know you want it. I can make you scream all night." I hear him say as he stands up and pulls her into his body. His lips are heading for her. I reach around her body and feel her stiffen for only a moment before she must recognize me. I pull her into my body and take her tray from her hand. I twist her around behind me as he realizes she's gone.
"Hey asshole, she's mine. Go get your own." The fucker says and I realize he's American and doesn't recognize me from sight. He grabs for her again, reaching around me and I've had enough. I clock the guards making their way toward us as I swing the tray and smack him in the face.
"Fecker, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. No man touches my woman." I growl as he falls back. His friends go to pull him up, but he fights them and stands up, wiping the blood from his face.
