Griffyn nods from his spot, leaning against the door.
“Yup. Let’s go,” Felix says.
He grabs my hand as we make our way out to their car.
We haven’t talked about bringing my car over here. It feels a little too much like I’m moving in, so as long as they don’t mind driving me to work, I’m going to keep it back at my apartment.
Felix holds open the front passenger door for me while Griffyn gets into the back. Once I’m securely in, he shuts it before getting in behind the wheel.
I make them wait while I go inside alone. Seconds later, they’re taking a seat at the bar.
Since they’ve come with me a couple times, I know their drinks of choice.
I make Griffyn a whiskey sour and Felix a Moscow mule.
They both stay quiet, just enjoying the music and talking softly to each other. I honestly don’t mind them coming with me.
I don’t need the backup. I can handle myself, but they’re not bothering me, so it’s fine.
Of course, on the weekend, all the idiots come out, so I’m not surprised when a bar fight breaks out in front of me.
I wish they’d take it outside instead of right by my bar, but of course, they aren’t courteous enough to do that.
I’m about to step back and let security handle it when they step it up a notch. I’ll find these guys outside to dish out my own justice.
Idiot one takes a glass off the bar and shatters it against idiot two’s head.
Idiot two goes flying back into the bar, arms flying to catch his balance and smacks me right in the face.
I can feel blood dripping from my nose, and I’m sure I’ll have a black eye. I’ll have to call out of work because they can’t see how quickly I’ll heal from this.
I step back. Otherwise, I’ll out supernaturals to humans.
Felix doesn’t seem to have the same worry.
He grabs Idiot two’s hand from the air, squeezing so hard I hear a crunch. Felix puts him in a chokehold before facing him toward me.
“You hit my girl. Apologize.”
I look around to see everyone staring at the interaction. The fight had already drawn everyone closer.
Griffyn has idiot one’s arms behind his back. A menacing scowl on his pretty face.
“Sorry,” the guy wheezes out.
Felix doesn’t release him.
I go around the bar, setting my hand gently on his arm.
“Take him outside and leave him there. I’m okay,” I say.
He tightens his grip before tightly nodding. Felix drags the man outside, Griffyn following behind him with the other.
Mike rushes over to me from the back room. Someone must have gone to get him.
“I’m fine!” I say immediately.
I don’t want him worrying about me.
