“Let’s go,” I say, opening my door and getting out.

Felix comes up behind me, wrapping an arm around me and nuzzling my neck.

Stupidly, I smile.

“We are still taking this slow and getting to know each other,” I clarify, but I don’t push him away. I secretly kind of like it.

“Of course,” Felix holds up three fingers, “Scout’s honor.”

I burst out laughing. The three of us get out and meet the rude one in front of the restaurant. We all head inside and grab a table for five.

When I raise an eyebrow, Felix answers, “Blaze, another member of our team is coming.”

Aly did tell me there were four of them.

We sit down with Griffyn on my left, Felix right, and Asshole across from me.

“What’s your name?” I ask, staring at him.

“Aksel Huxley Lenoir. And you are?”

I’m pretty sure he knows my name since I told Griffyn, but I’ll play along.

“Anna Willson. What do you want with Ryan?”

If they’re truly hunting him, I’ll help them in a heartbeat.

“We are an elite team the council has assigned to capture him. We know he has had dealings with your friends, and I find it interesting that you are a vampire,” Aksel answers.

I raise an eyebrow. We are getting right into this, then.

The waitress stops me from answering, taking our orders. They all briefly glance at the menu before answering.

“For you, honey?” She asks.

“I’ll take a double cheeseburger with American cheese, bacon, avocado, and cheese fries on the side,” I answer.

I have a usual here. She nods, leaving us alone once again.

There’s a prickling sensation on the back of my neck. Swinging around, I see a hulking man come through the front door. He is huge with muscles on muscles and at least six foot seven. He’s heading right to our table, so I have to assume he’s their fourth, Blaze.

Blaze stops in his tracks, staring at our table with wide eyes. It’s too far to see their color from here. Was he not expecting me to be with them?

He recovers, sitting down next to Aksel, diagonal from me. His hair is short on the sides and slicked back on the top, and his gorgeous face is covered in a thin layer of stubble.

“Who is this?” He asks, staring right at me. He lifts the corner of his mouth into a smile, but it looks a little unnatural.

“I’m Anna. Nice to meet you.” I hold a hand out for him to shake. I won’t hold anything against him until I know if he’s going to be a problem too.

“Blaze.” His hand engulfs mine as he gives it a firm shake.

“Anna here was just about to tell us what she knows about Ryan,” Aksel says.

Blaze sits back in his seat and just stares at me.

“And she’s my mate,” Felix adds, joyful.

Blaze’s eyes widen, but he doesn’t say anything, continuing to stare at me like he’s cataloging every detail.
