“Ryan?” I squeak.

I take a step forward but Aksel’s arm whips out to keep me back. “Don’t get any closer Anna. This has to be a trap.”

Ryan’s eyes turn to slits as he looks at the place Aksel is touching me. “Get your hands off her!”

I pull my eyes away from the Ryan lookalike in front of me to see Aksel’s entire body coil in anticipation. “What are you going to do about it?”

Ryan flashes fangs, growling menacingly.

It’s like a trigger. I’ve seen that face transform into hatred and attack me. Those teeth have ripped me apart.

I whimper, pressing myself into Blaze behind me. He wraps an arm around my middle, pulling me into his body.

Instantly, Ryan withdraws his fangs and looks at me in sympathy.

“He attacked you. Tell me he didn’t.” Ryan’s voice is desperate.

“Who?” Griffyn asks, voice hard.

Ryan glances at the cage he’s in like it holds all the answers.

“My twin brother. The person who imprisoned me here and told me Anna was dead. My life long torturer.” He sounds miserable as he confesses this.

There’s two of them? They are different people. Everything starts to click. The complete change in personality. Why I couldn’t understand why Ryan killed me. It didn’t add up. But now it does.

The Ryan we’ve been hunting isn’t Ryan at all. But he’s still responsible for ruining lives and he needs to pay.

I’m going to make sure he does.
