He hastily snapped his fingers at his men, who smirked darkly at me before they followed in tow behind him. I watched as Damien then reached under his suit jacket and pulled out a gun. He cocked it, then one by one, they disappeared through the emergency exit.

I smirked a smile. That could only mean one thing.

He knew.

Feeling more pleased than ever, I whipped back around and entered the bathroom, making sure it was empty before dialing my father.

“Son,” his enthusiastic voice greeted me. “Sharkey and Prim just phoned me with the news.”

“Status update?”

“On the girls?”

“Yeah.”

“They’re no longer inside the Valley. Cindy has given them all their documents, passports, and everything else they may need. They’re on the way to the airport in Clover Bay as we speak. They should be arriving within the next hour or two.”

“Good,” I nodded. “And hey, just a heads up. Damien knows they’re missing. He just talked to me.”

Father grew quiet then.

“What did he say to you?”

“Nothing direct, but he knows. I just saw him walk out the door locked and loaded with three of his men.”

There was another long pause.

“Dad?”

“Yeah, Son, I’m here.”

“What do you need us to do?”

“Just sit tight for another hour and then I want you three back at the academy. Your main focus now will be getting our new recruits prepped for the trials. Leave Damien and his bullshit to me.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes, Phantom, I’m sure. I’ll update you boys when I can.”

I squeezed the phone tightly in my hand and blew out a breath, chewing nervously on my left lip ring. When I walked out the door and met up with my brothers, I opened my mouth, unable to get a word out thanks to Isaac raising his hand to shush me.

“Whatever it is can wait. It’s starting.”

I took my seat then and leveled my glare on Rhett, who simply shrugged and shook his head, looking just as annoyed. As the lights dimmed out in the club, a large spotlight blasted down on the center of the stage. My brows immediately furrowed as the intro toNeuroticbyThree Days Gracebegan blasting throughout the club.

My lips parted when a half-naked woman wearing a mask stepped out on stage, swaying her hips. There was a wireless microphone attached to her ear, and I gasped as she began to sing. The raw, unfiltered sound of her beautiful, broken voice shot chills down my spine.

That voice…

How do I know that voice?

“Fuck…”

“Amazing, isn’t she?” Isaac cooed as he leaned forward against the table, gawking at the woman like some love-sick puppy. “Unusual music choice, but hey, that’s right up your alley though, isn’t it, Phantom?”

“Yeah…right up my alley.”

I stared harder at the dancer while she continued to sing. She seemed…familiar. But the harder I glared, scrutinizing her voice, her hair, body, and the way she worked the pole as she sang, I couldn’t pinpoint it.
