“Shh, I’m right here baby…right here,” he promised sliding his hand into her hair returning his mouth to hers. “I love you Brooke.”
“Neil?” she gasped the words completely unexpected but so amazing.
“It’s okay baby,” he said, gently stroking her cheek as her heart raced wildly again. “I’m not going anywhere. Not now, not ever. I love you.”
“I…don’t know…how?”
“There’s no ‘how’ to it baby, only how can I not. You are everything I ever wanted, needed and more. You’re so fucking brilliant and it just makes me want you more. Want to spend more time with you, be with you, all of you.”
She looked into his eyes and saw the truth there. It made her worry that he would leave her because she felt the same way. She knew she did. It was the only possible reason why they’d connected like they had. Why she’d tell him the things she had. She’d never told anyone the truth until him. Until she felt safe—with him. “Neil…I love you too.”
“What?” he said worried he’d misheard. Shit he’d figured he’d scared the hell out of her telling her but he couldn’t keep it to himself any longer. She was everything he’d ever dreamed of finding.
“I love you too. I don’t know how or why or when but I do. This…you’re the only one it feels right with. The guys I let use me to get rides from didn’t touch me the way you do. Inside I mean,” she added when his eyes glittered, calming the hints of jealousy immediately.
“Ah baby…I can’t let you go now, not ever. You belong to me entirely now, you know that?”
“I don’t want you to ever let go. I just…”
“Can’t risk your family finding you. What if there was no way they could force you back?” he asked certain it was insane to be thinking this, but it’d been in his mind for weeks now. From the moment she gave herself over to him entirely, let him please her completely, he’d been waiting for it.
“How?”
“Marry me…once the semester’s over and you’re officially no longer my student, marry me and we’ll be protected from not only your family but also the board of directors for the university. They can’t tear us apart then.”
“You want to come out after that?”
“Not unless you’re prepared to go up against them both when they hear about it but when it does finally come out that we’ve been married for however long it’ll be that much harder to do anything to stop us. Marry me Brooke…let me take care of you while you take care of me.”
“By keeping you sated?” she asked trying to stop herself from saying yes. It was so hard to keep the word off her tongue, far harder than she ever imagined.
“That’s only the beginning of how you take care of me…the real way is right in here,” he stated holding her hand over his heart. “I’m never going to be able to let you go.”
“This is crazy but yes…I’ll marry you and let you own me,” she said with a grin.
“If you think I’m demanding as a boyfriend just wait until I’m your husband,” he said against her ear, a smile in his tone. “I will own you, but you’ll also own me.”
“I know.”
“Good now go clean up so I can get to class before I get fired. We’ll go shopping for a ring later.”
“Ring shopping?”
“My physical ownership of you and yours of me.”
“You wear a ring and everyone will know you’re married.”
“Even if I don’t wear it, they’ll know just as they know there’s someone in my life, but this does mean you’ll have to meet my family finally.”
“Is that wise considering everything?”
“The wisest. I won’t tell them anything about your family I swear. Now go,” he said pushing her towards the bathroom with a kiss. “I’ll see you in class baby.”
“Bye Neil,” she stated with a smile.
“I love you,” he said as he opened the door.
“I love you too,” she replied before cleaning up. She made it to her second class of the day and tried to focus on her schoolwork. Her brain kept thinking over things that’d happened the last few months and she finally had to tell herself to let it all go. She wanted to be with Neil. She’d wanted it from the beginning of the year when they’d met. Now she had him and she wasn’t going to worry about it ending. About her family finding out and taking him from her.
