“I can’t believe it,” Samantha said as she gazed at the little baby resting on her chest. “There hasn’t been a girl in this family in ages.”

“First of many if I can manage it,” Neil said, his eyes dark as he gazed at her and Brooke sighed happily, content with the idea even more now than she was over a year ago.

“Let’s see how it goes with one before we get to two, hmm?” she said, her eyes twinkling with joy.

“Whatever you want, baby,” he agreed.

“Well, do you have a name for her since you kept what she was a secret from all of us until now?” Jacob asked them.

“Natalia,” she said as Neil pressed a kiss to her temple.

“Natalia Joy,” he added and the way his arms wrapped around them, Brooke was certain she wasn’t going to be alone for long—and there was absolutely nothing frightening about that, not with Neil next to her. Her safe place was wherever he was and this place—was absolutely perfect.
