“People think everyone in my club is a criminal but you know it’s far from the truth. Maybe you should give your brother the same consideration you’ve given the Road Warriors. He has been trying to mend fences with you for a while now, maybe you should hear him out and only then decide whether you want him in your life or not.”
“You give very good advice, Mr Prospect.” She tried to joke but didn’t succeed because her body language betrayed her.
“I’m going to lock up. I’ll see you tomorrow, Kellen.” She suddenly pointed a finger at me and she was full of fire again. “Don’t even think about going to see that bitch. Take her for coffee tomorrow and then drop the house on her.”
Jakes laughed and I just shook my head at her.
“You’re going to be in the coffee shop, aren’t you?”
She bounced her eyebrows up and down and gave me an evil grin.
“I’ll bring a posse and we’ll keep you safe. From a distance of course, but we will make sure she doesn’t go crazy on your ass.”
I knew nothing I said would change her mind so I just nodded. There was a part of me that was thankful I wouldn’t be alone with Alecia. The woman was gorgeous but definitely a stage five clinger.
In bed she was great but out of bed she was awful. When I started banging her I made sure she knew I wasn’t interested in a relationship. I never slept over at her place and I didn’t take her to my house. It was supposed to be fun but it quickly became no fun at all.
If she wasn’t calling me at all hours she was texting. And if I didn’t answer immediately she would send what felt like hundreds of text and voice messages. All of them accusing me of screwing Pixie or one of the girls I worked with in the back room of the shop.
She even wanted me to take her along when I went surfing in the early mornings but I nipped that idea in the bud. Early morning surfing was my time, my time to focus on the waves, my body, the board and nothing else.
Only problem was, she started turning up at the beach and causing shit with the girls who came out to surf. I was forced to change my routine, sneak out of my house and surf at another beach, and that pissed me off. It was one of the main reasons why I had been avoiding her and would be breaking things off. The other was that I just wasn’t into her. The more I got to know her the less I liked her. The woman’s personality sucked donkey balls. And honestly, I’ve had more than enough of her crazy ass.
Walking out of the shop I saw a flash of light in the far corner of the parking area but it lay in deep shadow and I couldn’t see anything in the darkness. We needed security lights over there and I was going to talk to Pixie about it in the morning. I was standing next to my Jeep staring at the shadowed area when Pixie and Jakes came out.
“Why are you still here?” He asked curiously.
I tipped my head slightly towards the corner. “I saw a flash of light over there and after hearing what Gideon had to say I’m wary of letting Pixie drive home with only you as protection.”
Giving me a chin lift he pulled his phone out and started texting. “You two pretend to have a conversation but keep the cages between you and the corner. We’ve got back up coming.”
The next moment there came the sounds of a scuffle and a high pitched yelp from the dark corner. We stared open mouthed as two large men materialized out of the dark, dragging a screeching woman towards us by her upper arms.
“What the hell?” Pixie whispered as we watched them come closer.
They were dressed like commandos, all in black, and had small headsets on. One of them was talking to someone as they approached us.
“Yes, Sir, Lex checked her phone and she has footage of Knight and his men as well as footage of you inside the shop, your guards and your car.” He frowned as he listened. “Will do, Sir.”
He didn’t look pleased when he turned to Pixie. “Ms Maingarde, Mr Acheson says it’s up to you what happens next. What do you want us to do?”
Pixie looked at them, then at me, then back at the men. “She’s been spying on my shop?”
“Yes, ma’am, for some time it looks like. She has quite the little set up back there. My crew is busy taking it down.”
Pixie turned to me and I could see by the angry glare in her eyes she was furious, but none of it showed on her face. “This is her, isn’t it?”
“Yes, that’s Alecia Parks.” I growled while glaring at the bitch who, for some reason, wasn’t bothered by the amount of shit she was in.
“Cool.” Pixie smiled as she turned to Alecia, but it wasn’t a nice smile. “Bitch, you’ve crossed a line and it seems to me you don’t have a clue exactly who it is you’re dicking with.”
“I’m not scared of you. You’re a bunch of criminals and I’m going to tell the cops all about you.”
“Really? And what exactly is it that you’re going to tell them, Miss Parks?”
The innocently interested look on Pixie’s face should have warned the bitch but obviously it didn’t.
“I’m going to tell my uncle you sell drugs and sex from your shop. I have all the evidence I need to have you thrown in jail for a very long time.” She declared very snarkily.
