After seeing what her henchman had done to Kellen I was even more determined to find my teammate.

I left the hospital determined to track him down.

To do that I needed the help of the rest of the team.

Our team consisted of eight members of which Simon and I were the most experienced.

And now he was missing.

I did not like it at all.

It was time to bring the team together and find our guy. He would do it for us, so we were going to do it for him. Regardless of the orders from HQ.

CHAPTER TEN

Gideon

Leaving Kellen to see to the unfinished business I had with the piece of shit who had tortured and tried to mutilate him wasn’t easy.

Neither was leaving him with his estranged family.

His sister, Bronwen, promised me she would stay with him until I returned.

The only reason I believed her was because Kellen had told me he still had regular contact with her and some contact with his mother.

I didn’t leave him completely alone though. Two of my men kept watch over his room and had orders to only allow those on his visitors’ list access to his room.

Even though I knew he was safe I was reluctant to leave.

Settling in the SUV driven by Darren, the commander of my team, I forced myself to concentrate on Maingarde business.

“Have we heard anything from Mitch?”

Lex was sitting in the back with me and sighed as she shook her head. “Not a word, Boss. We’re all starting to worry because he has never stayed silent this long. Especially after what happened.”

Fuck.

“I want him found. Tell the teams to keep searching for the hag. Wherever she is we will find Mitch. He’s been undercover for too damned long and needs to be pulled out. I don’t care if he protests, anyone who comes across him have orders to bring him out.” I didn’t want to think what would happen to him if his cover was blown.

“You got it, Boss.” Lex quietly started texting and I knew the wheels would be set in motion to find him.

“Now, tell me about our prisoner. Is he still so damned cocky?”

As we drove towards the Maingarde building I was given a full update on him.

The bastard hasn’t been touched since they locked him in the cells deep underneath the building.

Today was the day he would be touched. And not in a good way.

Or.

Maybe in both.

Good and bad.

I smiled in anticipation as I exited the car in the underground garage and got into the waiting lift.

Our people were in various positions inside and outside the building. We were staying sharp and not relaxing our guard after we found Kellen and apprehended the dead man walking waiting on me in the cells.
