“Don’t piss me off, you won’t like what happens.”
I’m pissing him off? What the hell?
“Me pissing you off? I’ve been pissed at you for two fucking weeks, Deon.” I snarled angrily.
Around us everyone had gone silent and was watching us with equally astonished and interested looks on their faces.
A very small but sly grin suddenly transformed his face. Damn, the man was beautiful. But when he allowed himself to smile he was something else, something more than just beautiful.
“That’s good to hear, it should make for some fantastic make up sex later.”
My mouth fell open in shock.
What?
But before I could vent my anger by calling him every bad name in the book DC jumped into the argument.
“Pixie warned me that you might show up here looking for Kell.”
Gideon slowly looked away from me to her. The smile gone so suddenly it was as if it had never been there.
“Pixie needs to keep her nose out of my business.” Gideon snarled at her.
DC was about to snap back at him when Hawk got involved. And that wasn’t good.
“Watch how you talk to my old lady, Acheson.” Hawk snarled.
Gideon and Hawk went into one of those alpha stare down type of situations and I don’t know how long it would have lasted if DC hadn’t stepped in between the two.
“No need to get all pissy with each other. It’s obvious there’s more going on here than we know about. So, let’s all step back and calm the hell down. Or I will throw some water on you like you do with fighting dogs.” DC threatened.
Hawk threw his woman a look but thankfully the tension between the men had been broken.
Gideon gave Hawk a chin lift before he totally ignored everyone and his focus came back to me.
He was looking so damned good. I couldn’t help but check him out from head to toe.
The black on black suit made his mossy green eyes stand out in that coldly beautiful face of his. His dark blonde hair with those distinguished grey flecks had been cut and was shorter than the last time I had seen him. He looked at me with a sinful barely there smile that accentuated the dimple in his chin.
Damn! And now I was turned on. Thankfully I wore baggy jeans that hid my erection.
“Get your things, Kell, we have a plane to catch.”
The man wasn’t listening to what I was saying and it pissed me off that he walked into my place of work and acted like he owned me. He didn’t and therefore couldn’t order me around.
“I’m not leaving with you.”
He moved, quick as lightning, and before I knew what the hell was going on he had me in the office and was slamming the door shut.
“No fucking on my desk, Gideon!” DC shouted.
Everyone burst out in loud raucous laughter and it just pissed me off. I had to work with these people and he was treating me like some helpless little doll.
I opened my mouth to tell him to go to hell when he pushed me up against the wall with his body and his warm hands cupped my face. All mirth was gone from his face and he was very serious when he spoke. His voice a soft but rough growl.
“I was a dick. I shouldn’t have left the way I did. Honestly though? I was scared. I’ve never felt like this about anyone in my life before. I know we don’t know each other at all, but we have something between us and I’m not letting you go.”
I tried to speak but he put one long finger over my lips.
