I chuckled, and my chuckle grew to a dark, sinister laugh. Cosmo turned around, gripping his small dagger. That’s not all that was small. My laugh stopped, and Everett and Alaneo were by my side in an instant, wondering about my next moves. Once calculated steps and planning were thrown out the door. My love was now sitting on death row. They were already planning her untimely death by their own hands.

Walking stealthily up to Cosmo, my hand grabbed around his thick neck. For a fae, he was fat, a typical nobleman. “You can’t keep me away from her, you pompous troll.” My fangs had already grown three times the size while his eyes grew as large as moons.

“Think, Your Majesty,” Alaneo whispered in my ear. My grip only tightened. If I thought anymore of this fae keeping me away from what was mine, I would have broken his neck right there.

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Osirus

“Osirus?”thesweetangelicvoice came from our bedroom door. Her head was poking out, her long dark hair cascading next to the door frame. “Is everything okay? I heard some yelling.” Her voice calmed me as I closed my eyes, my hands still gripping Cosmo’s throat.

“Everything is fine, darling.” I let go, causing Alaneo to release a large breath he was holding.

“Thank you, Hera,” he prayed.

Cosmo coughed and rubbed his neck while glancing back at Melina. Rage filled me, knowing he was sizing her up and a small smirk played on his lips. He didn’t know I could read his aura, his ill intentions, his hatred.

“I’m sorry, didn’t know we had company.” She ducked back into the room.

“Come, darling, I want you to meet someone.” She blushed and looked back into our room.

“I’m not decent,” she whispered.

My body couldn’t stand it anymore, and I needed her touch before I lashed out and broke Cosmo’s neck.

“Please,” I said pleadingly, holding my hand to her.

Hesitantly, she stepped out, and she was wearing a white, short silk robe. Her long legs were creamy and small bruises were on her outer thighs from my grabbing hold of her just a few hours ago. I grinned, looking at my handy work. Alaneo and Everett dropped their mouths in shock, her hair covering the front of her body as she played with it nervously.

She appeared like a damn angel. Her bare feet padded across the floor, and she took my hand, and I held her close to me. Her short stature didn’t go unnoticed by Cosmo as he cleared his throat. He knew it would be easy to take her down. She couldn’t even defend herself in this world without supernatural power or a protection spell.

“This is why she needs to be trained, Your Majesty. A queen should always be presentable.”

I rolled my eyes at his statement. I was in my own damn robe, and we were in our own fucking chambers.

All the while, he was staring at her, giving her a hard look, and when I thought she would cower away, she stepped forward. “We are in our living quarters. Why the heck would I need to be in a dress? You were the one that came here unannounced.”

Cosmo’s face contorted from shock to anger while I beamed with pride. “Listen, here,” he stated, “you are not Queen yet, so I suggest—”

I cut him off. “I suggest you leave,” I growled. “Go to the Court and the Parliament to get your order, but she stays with me, and I will take care of what she needs to know.” Little did he know that it would be too late by the time the Parliament assembled to conduct a ruling.

“Fine. Good evening, Your Majesty.” Cosmo stomped out the door while Alaneo shut it gently.

“Who was that goon? I got the creeps from him. Why don’t you, like, kick his butt or something? You are King, right?” Alaneo and Everett snorted a laugh while I pulled her into my lap and sat down.

“I can’t just yet. At the end of the week, I certainly will.” I traced my fingers on her thigh as she leaned into me. “There are a lot of moving parts to a kingdom. There are even things I cannot overthrow without the help of others.”

“Is that when you plan to take everything over? Take care of the Court?”

I nodded solemnly. “We must. There are too many variables, and the quicker it’s done, the more I can concentrate on you.”

She hummed as she nestled into my chest. “I just want to make sure the orphanage is all right. I’d like to visit them again this week. They have been through a lot, and I’d like to help give those women a break.”

“I’ll see what I can do.”

Melina

The next morning, Osirus woke me at the crack of dawn. The suns were barely over the ocean as he got dressed. I groaned into the pillow, not wanting to move my body. Osirus decided to make me orgasm five times last night before we fell asleep. The fae had some stamina. His tongue, his fingers, and his hands touching every part of my body made me shiver. The thought of one day finally giving my whole body to him gave me tingles in… some places.
