“Listen here. You have done some things, correct?”
Looking angry and crossing my arms, I huffed. “I know what the birds and the bees are. I know what sex is, and I don’t need an explanation! I need you to tell me what those devices are in the drawer!” This was getting out of hand.
That wasn’t part of sex, now, was it? There was a penis and a vagina, and it goes in some places. You can do things with your mouth and fingers, but the whole, handcuffs, blindfolds, and that crop were not in my explanation of sex in school.
“I would rather talk to Osirus about this. This is private.” I gritted my teeth.
Primrose giggled and held her hand over her mouth. “Oh, honey, I’m just trying to help. Fae can be a bit adventurous when it comes to”—she looked around before whispering—“intimacy.”
“Do you use these things?” I asked in disbelief.
“Some and other things.” She laughed and gave me a wink. “My boyfriend and I are a bit more adventurous. You know, public places.” She threw her head back dramatically.
“Goddess, Primrose, what if you get caught?” How could anyone want to do that sort of thing in public?
“It’s exciting, the thought that someone could walk up and see you doing the horizontal limbo, the sticky tango, the love rub…”
I started covering my ears and hummed.
“Anyway.” Primrose giggled. “It’s exciting!”
“That’s nice and all, not my style.” I got up from the bed and headed back over to the couch. I thought everything was going to be smooth sailing from here, but more and more questions seemed to be running through my mind. Was he into beating his lovers? Pain? Those things looked painful to me. What if I didn’t want to have anything to do with that sort of thing?
Osirus was dominant in bed, but how far would he go? What if we mated, and then he brought all this up? My head hurt—my heart began to hurt. I had barely done anything, heck, I’d never even seen a dick in real life, and here we were talking about tying me to the bed and letting him have his way with me! What if that was the master plan? He will tie me to the bed and force me to stay!
Nope, not going to happen. I could feel my heart closing off right now. The things we did last night seemed like a distant memory. It was a nice memory, but if we were to move forward with anything, a lot of my questions needed answers.
One, being locked up in this room, and two, what he expected from me sexually because we went from zero to one hundred real quick.
Osirus
“You are late, Your Highness,” Alaneo reminded me for the second time as I fixed the sleeves on my jacket. My cape felt unusually heavy today, and my heart. I had to leave my mate alone in bed so I could attend a Court meeting regarding her.
This was not what I wanted, to be stuck in a meeting for who knows how long regarding the kingdom’s future. I wanted her to feel comfortable before presenting her to the people, but that has been completely ruined.
“I know, Alaneo. The meeting doesn’t truly start until its king is present anyway, correct?” I gave him a side smirk while he patted my back.
Entering through the double doors that the guards held open, I walked up to my table in the back center of the room. All the noble families were already in attendance, ready to spout whatever nonsense they wanted to do with the kingdom. I stood at my desk, assessing to see if everyone was present, and I sat down, signaling everyone to follow.
Cosmo Cottonfleck stood from his seat and walked to the center of the stadium-style room, built enough for fifty members. He sauntered to the podium and had several papers organized before facing me with a stern face.
“Your Majesty,” he spoke arrogantly. “There is a rumor in the kingdom that you have found your mate.” Cosmo paused as I rested my hand on my cheek, looking at him unamused. Cosmo waited for me to speak, but I just waved my finger at Alaneo to speak for me. It was better that way. People thought I was passive or too pissed off to speak. I let them think what they wanted.
“His Highness is aware of the rumor. What of it?” I think Alaneo needed a raise, or maybe a better home inside the castle. He put up with so much shit for me.
Cosmo cleared his throat, and irritation was clear in his voice. “Is it true?” he demanded.
I sat up from my seat, getting quite uncomfortable about where this was going.
“What does it matter to you?” I growled at him.
Many members of the Court were shocked that I spoke out loud to a group of people. Many began whispering to each other, concerned over my outburst. Alaneo was my speaker. If there was something to be said, he spoke for me.
“Y-Your Majesty, we need to know if you have found your mate. It is your duty to claim her and let the people know of your intended.” He gave a sly smirk.
His wanting to expose her was to make up flaws, so my subjects would say she was unfit to be Queen. The damn nobles and their pride. Their minds had been twisted into thinking the Moon Goddess couldn’t properly match. This could cause a coup in the Court, fae trying to overthrow me and try to take a new king. Cosmo had eyed the throne for a long time.
This would not happen. Little did they know the werewolves and a few shifter communities were on our side. I just needed to keep Melina safe until she allowed me to mark her as mine and complete the bond.
