I return to Earth slowly, my body trembling from the experience. Drawing in a shuddering breath, I wrap my arms around Luke, blinking at the screen.

Luke pleasured me in a room full of people. No one saw anything. Barely a sound was made. The thought of it makes me giggle.

I’ve never done this. Everything about Luke rings of exploration and that's because he keeps taking me to realms I've never been before. Trying out new things with me.

I think it's high time I admitted the truth.

I'm falling for Luke Holland.

The end credits of Titanic are still rolling by the time we walk out of the movie theater.

My body pulsates with excitement, thinking about what Luke had done to me in the dim theater. Swirls of sensation embrace my belly every single time I remember his fingers exploring me, drawing silent moans out of me.

I hold his hand as we move toward his car, wondering if I should tell him that I loved what we did. I want us to do it again. Maybe in the car. Maybe in the warmth of his bedroom.

When I glance at him, Luke’s staring straight ahead. He hasn't spoken a word since he made me come in the theater. It's as if he doesn't want to talk about it.

Immediately, my excitement vanishes like smoke lost in the wind. Luke probably pleasured me because he felt I wanted it. Not because he wanted it, too.

The thought stings my eyes. I'm embarrassed. Angry. Confused. I'm everything at once.

I take my hand away from his and tuck my hands under my arms. An invisible cold attacks me—rather, Luke's silence instills the cold in me. Deeply. Painfully.

"What's wrong?" he says, his voice harsh when he stops to address me.

I peer into his eyes, seeing them burn with rage. What's his problem? Why is he so angry? “Did that mean nothing to you?”

He freezes. “It doesn’t matter what it means to me.”

I draw back sharply. “Of course it does. I haven’t done anything like that with anyone, Luke. Ever.”

“Enough with the lies, Adeline!” He presses the heels of his palms into his temples. “You just let me get you off in a movie theater. You’re far from some naive virgin.”

Heat stings my cheeks as shame burns me from the inside out. “I was a virgin,” I whisper. “You were my first, Luke.”

It’s his turn to look as if he’s just been slapped. Possessiveness flares in his green gaze. A burst of lust. But then he’s shaking his head. “Did your brothers tell you to say that?”

“What the hell do they have to do with this?”

Luke closes his eyes. I see his chin tremble, his jawline jutting out in annoyance. When he opens his eyes again, the fire in them is ten times fiercer. "Don’t act like you don’t know what your brothers are."

His reply takes me off guard. "What are you talking about?"

"I know what you are!" Luke snaps.

He moves closer to me, the gorgeous face I’ve come to love now transforming into one that scares me. I’ve never seen him this angry.

"I know what you all are," he growls.

My lips quiver as I struggle to respond. Is Luke talking about my true identity? If so, how in the world did he find out?

"How..." I stutter. "How do you know we’re shifters?"

His next reaction sends my heart straight to my mouth. Luke pins me to the side of the car, his face so close to mine, I get a plain view of the fury dancing in his eyes. His hand closes around my neck but his grip isn't tight, as though he's careful not to hurt me.

"I know more than that, Adeline. I’m a shifter, too. Don’t act so innocent. I watched your pack kill my family."
