Pulling away just an inch, I said, “You have no idea how hard I am right now.”

“God. Would you just shut up already?” Before I could say anything, a handful of cake came to the side of my face. “Taste it. Maybe it’ll shut you up.”

Raid and the rest of the brothers started laughing uncontrollably, and I followed suit, pulling Indie to me and rubbing my face all over her. Her screams were adorable as the cake covered her with each movement.

“I’d love to stand here all fuckin’ day and watch you two make out with cake, but I’ve got shit to do,” Booker said full of snark.

“And you, my friend, are asshole smurf,” Indie claimed.

“I thought we were dwarfs, not smurfs?” Ryker chimed in.

Indie grabbed a bowl filled with blue icing. “Assholes I could make it a reality assholes.”

“This is a circus, and we’re the ones providing a show for the entire town of Sumner,” her sister groaned.

I didn’t give a fuck, but with Indie’s sigh, we got to work cleaning up the kitchen.

With all of us, it didn’t take long at all. We even booted Indie, her sister, and brother out of the way. Her brother wasn’t too pleased. Probably heard about our Sunday morning escapades.

He’d have to get used to it.

I wasn’t goin’ anywhere.

“Damn. You owe us beer and pizza for this shit,” Green said, sweeping up the floors after all the tables were set right and we were almost done.

“Quit your bitchin’. I think we need to get some more prospects to do this shit.”

The last two we had flaked out, and Cruz put a hold on giving anyone else leather for a while. Understandable. We had a few hang arounds who would probably make it to the prospect stage, but nothing was set in concrete yet.

Except maybe the two who didn’t fit in. Concrete held nicely on them.

“Agreed,” Raid said, putting all the cleaning things away in the back closet.

“We’re out,” they announced as I made my way to Indie who I found in the far kitchen where she was stirring something in a very large bowl.

“Hey, Indie.”

Her eyes flew up at mine, and the fire wasn’t there as hot as it had been. “Hey.”

She moved with the bowl and dumped its contents in the huge mixer. “Whatcha makin’?”

Her eyes cut to mine. “Cake since you Neanderthals destroyed what I had prepared to frost.”

A chuckle escaped me. “All cleaned up and ready for ya.”

“Thanks,” she grumbled as if she didn’t want to thank me for anything, but also appreciated the help.

“I did it. I’ll clean it. Gotta know now; you have Ravage at your back. We take care of our own,” I told her frankly.

She stared at me, her hand halting. “I don’t have Ravage at my back, Ax. Just because we had a little heart to heart and fucked a couple of times, doesn’t mean I’m with you. You need to get that through your head. All is not forgiven. I don’t trust you. You have to know that.”

Part of that was complete and total bullshit. She knew what we’d shared. There was no going back only forward and proving every fucking second that I would protect her with my life.

“You keep tellin’ yourself that, but, babe, mark my words—there isn’t a place in this world you can hide from me. What we’ve shared, that shit is solid. As hard as a concrete structure for us to build a life on.”

Indie looked down at her batter then turned on the huge mixing machine. It was loud and she was probably trying to drown me out, but too bad. I made my move to her and wrapped my arms around her stomach.

She stiffened, then relaxed into me. “You’ve lost your mind, Ax.”
