I felt it.So light it felt like a feather tickling my skin. It was his lips. I knew it was. Not his fingers or nose. It was definitely his lips.

When I swung around, he was in the thrash of people in the clubhouse, blending in until he was nowhere in sight.

Turning back to the cake, I felt my hands tremble as the butterflies in my stomach fluttered to flight. My skin was already hot, but a pickle now came with it.

Six years. Six years since I’d felt his lips on me. It wasn’t something I could forget. It took me back to a time when his kisses were my whole world.

“Ax, what are you doing?” I slapped him on the arm and pulled back. “We’re in the middle of the hallway.”

“Don’t give a fuck. Need a taste of you to get me through the rest of today,” he growled low, and wetness pooled between my legs.

His lips touched the skin of my neck, running up and then down. God I loved him. So much it hurt sometimes.

My head tilted, giving him more access. With that, he grabbed my hips and pulled me against his hard erection. It was my turn to groan.

“This isn’t a porn studio,” Mr. Baker yelled from the science room door. “Move it along.”

We pulled away, looking in the teacher’s direction. “Shit,” I said low so only Ax could hear.

“Move along, Mr. Baker,” Ax said to chuckles in the hallway. “My girl. My school.” He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pulled me down the hallway.

Snapping back to the present, I shook my head, hoping to clear it. God, I loved the way he took charge of things and didn’t take any shit from anyone. He’d always been on his own playing field. It made me feel powerful when I was with him. That out of everyone in our school, he chose me. When it ended, that power vanished and humiliation took its place. It took years for me to get that power back. I fought for it and didn’t want to go back there.

While the shake of my head didn’t work to clear the thoughts of Ax Monroe, I had a job to finish. The sooner that was done, the sooner I’d be out of here. And the sooner I’d be away from Ax and all his manly alphaness.

Several people came to look at the cake while I worked, but only one stopped to talk to me. Buzz, Ax’s father. "Thanks for doin’ this for the club.”

The deep voice had me stopping and turning to the man. He was handsome with blond hair and a great smile when he showed it. He was a twin just like his boys, Ax and Raid. He’d always been nice, but distant to me. Cordial but never asking me any real questions.

I never knew if that was because he didn’t like me too much or if he knew I’d just be another notch on Ax’s bedpost. From his good looks, he probably knew the game his boys played in high school.

I wish I’d have known…

I shrugged and twisted the piping bag to do the final touches on connecting the roads together. “Bella and Tanner asked. I wasn’t gonna say no.”

He smiled wide. The same smile his son had. Hell, both sons had. The one that didn’t come out often but was now here on display. It turned his rugged features a bit softer which I didn’t think was possible.

“It’s appreciated. You need anything, you come find me.”

I felt my mouth open to respond, but nothing came out for a moment. Stunned, maybe. Hell if I knew, but I took his kindness. “Thanks.”

Buzz lifted his chin like all the men here seemed to do before saying, “That one there looks like my boy.” He tilted his head to the bikers. “Wonder how that happened?” Then he disappeared into the crowd. I swore I was going to have a heart attack if my heart kept beating out of my chest.

He noticed. Of all people, Ax’s father did. Shit.

I hoped like hell he didn’t relay that information to Ax. Not that I’d talk to Ax about anything.

Breathing in and out deep, I got to work and finished the masterpiece.

The cake was beautiful. Exactly, if not better, than I envisioned in my head and on the sketches I’d made. The hot pink convertible car was in front and the main focal point. Mazie sat in it with her hair blowing in the wind without a care in the world. Then the four bikers right on her tail trailed behind her. Yeah, the biker who looked like Ax. I had him tucked in the back, not as a standout display. Only someone looking for the features should have found them.

Sometimes I could be seriously stupid, but as a whole it was beautiful. Some of my best work to date. It needed to be captured and put in my book. It would be a huge addition to my work portfolio.

Grabbing my cell, I pulled it out and lined up the cake in its entirety.

I snapped a picture of the cake and the flash went off, making the dark space illuminate. It caught some of the women and bikers around me’s attention.

My hand went up as I started to apologize, but two huge bikers started coming my way, their intense eyes boring into me. People got out of their way, not saying a word as they continued to approach.
