Indie was here.

She was safe.

She was mine.

“I can’t findGizmo with all the boxes.” I searched through the field of stuff Ax had brought to my house. Gizmo barked, and I went toward the sound, searching.

Ax came from the kitchen holding Gizmo in his arms. “This furball?”

“I thought you lived at the strip club?”

He smirked. “Used to.”

“So how do you have so much stuff?”

Boxes lined the living room, stacked here and there. I’d never lived with a man before, and it was a bit overwhelming.

The door opened and Bella walked in with Buzz on her heels, carrying another box.

“How many more are there?” I asked, and Bella smiled wide.

“Only a few. We’d been storing these at home until he found a place. Now he has a place, and I can get my basement cleaned out,” she said as Buzz sat the box down. “Some of his toys are in there. High school yearbooks. Tons of albums that I made with pictures. Now they’re all yours.”

My head tipped up to the celling. “Lucky me,” I grumbled.

Strong arms wrapped around me, and Gizmo licked under my neck. “I’ll go through it and get rid of what needs to go. I’m gonna move it into the spare bedroom so you don’t have to stare at it.”

“You sure you wanna move in here?” I asked him. Loving that he didn’t live in a strip club anymore, but also on edge as we’d never lived together. What if he threw all his dirty clothes around the room or that he didn’t know how to do laundry? “Do you know how to do laundry?”

Buzz, Bella, and Ax burst out laughing. “No worries, Indie,” Bella spoke. “Taught him to cook, clean, do laundry and everything else a man should do for his woman.”

She was right. It was the nerves talking.

“You tryin’ to kick me out already?” Ax asked me.

The door swung open again, and Raid came through. “Hell, I’d have already done it.”

“Take that to the spare,” Ax ordered, and Raid flipped him the bird. How he did it holding a box, I sure didn’t know. He was one strong man.

“Everything will be fine, Indie. Do you love me?” he asked me, and my arms went around him tight.

“Yeah.”

“Then all the other shit will fall into place.”

He was right. Not that I’d tell him that. I didn’t want him getting a big head and all. He was already too cocky for his own good.

“I’m gonna go order the pizzas so they can get delivered,” I told Ax who reached around him and pulled out his wallet, handing it to me.

I closed my eyes, opened them, and took the wallet. He’d asked me to give him this, and I told him I would. It was unusual having a man at my side who wanted to make my life easier. But damn, I loved it.

Ax released me, and I moved into the kitchen, grabbed my cell off the counter, and ordered the pizza.

Looking up, Raid entered the room and sat at the island.
