“Date?” Cotton’s expression grew fierce. “What date?”
“Thanks a lot, jerkface.”
“What?” Susana asked innocently. “I thought you told him.”
“Yeah, right.” Darby rolled her eyes, then turned her attention to Cotton and smiled. “It’s no big deal, Dad. It’s just Daniel from work. It’s Susana’s guy you should be worried about.”
“And who is that?”
“Don’t listen to her, Dad. She’s just...”
“She met him at a bar last week,” Darby interrupted. “She was totally wasted and can’t even remember what the guy looks like.”
“Darby!” Susana gasped. “I can’t believe you!”
“What? It’s the truth.”
“Don’t listen to her. She has no idea what she’s talking about.” Susana eased up on her tiptoes and kissed her disgruntled father on the cheek. “We’ll see you next week.”
“Be careful.”
Once they were gone, the rest of us said our goodbyes, then headed over to our bikes. I kicked my leg over the seat of my Harley, and as I sat down, I noticed Jules standing over by the barn. Just like before, she was watching me like a hawk. I didn’t get it. I had no idea what was up with her. I held her gaze for a moment, then slipped on my helmet. I started my engine, and without looking back, I followed my brothers down the driveway and out to the main road.
We started back to town, and one by one, the brothers broke from the group and headed home. I, along with Bones and Wrath, followed Goose and Twitch back to the clubhouse. It was after ten when we pulled through the gate. It had been a long day, but I had no doubt that my younger brothers would hit the bar, down a few drinks, and possibly hook up with one of the club’s hang-arounds.
That didn’t interest me.
I was wiped.
I just wanted to grab a beer and hit the sack—until I walked into the bar and spotted Tenzleigh sitting at the front counter, and she was looking all kinds of hot. Her eyes raked over me as she purred, “Hey there, Q. How’s it going?”
“It’s going.”
Tenzleigh was one of the club’s most popular hang-arounds. She was a smoking hot redhead and had a way with her mouth that could make any man forget the world around him. I leaned back against the counter and gave her a once over, taking my time checking out her incredible tits. “What are you doing up at this hour?”
“I couldn’t sleep. I thought a drink might help, but now that you’re here...” She gave me a seductive smile. “I’m thinking I might just head on back to my room. Wanna join me?”
I needed to let off some steam, and Tenzleigh was just the girl to help me out. “Yeah, I’d definitely be up for that.”
“Great.”
I grabbed my beer from the cooler, then followed her to one of the guest rooms. She opened her door, and her lust-filled eyes were trained on me as she watched me step inside. Once I’d entered the room, she closed the door and stepped over to me. She didn’t waste time with small talk or even a heated kiss. Instead, she simply dropped to her knees and started unbuckling my belt.
Her teeth raked over her bottom lip as she looked up at me and said, “I haven’t seen much of you lately.”
“I’ve been busy.”
“Too busy, if you ask me.” Her long, red hair fell around her shoulders as her fingers worked to release my zipper. “We have some catching up to do, handsome.”
She smiled up at me, and her brown eyes filled with eagerness as she began lowering my jeans down my hips. She took me in her hand and wound her fingers tightly around my length before brushing her warm, wet tongue around the head of my cock. I closed my eyes and tried to relish the feeling as her hand began to slowly stroke up and down.
I was just starting to get into it when the girl from Smokey’s place drifted into my thoughts. The second her beautiful face slipped into my thoughts I was done for. All I could think about was that look of disgust on her face, and it made my stomach twist into a begrudging knot.
I was lost in my head when a wanton moan drew my attention back to Tenzleigh. I looked down at her, and frustration washed over me when I realized my cock wasn’t hard—not even a little. Hell, the damn thing was fucking limp and showed no sign of life. Anger surged through me, consuming me—making it impossible to get the reprieve I needed from Tenzleigh.
I took a step back from Tenzleigh, breaking her hold on me as I said, “Sorry, babe. I’ve gotta go.”
“What?”
