“You underestimate me, Marcus.” I winked at him and took a step back. “But right now, I need to rescue my friend. We’ll be in touch.”

As I walked toward Sarah, my head pounded, and a wave of nausea hit me. The club spun, and I felt the bile reaching my throat.

We weren’t even drinking.

When I reached her, her hair was sticky with sweat, and mascara smudged around her dazed eyes.

“Hey, are you okay?” I asked her. When she didn’t respond, I said, “Alright, I’ll go grab us some more water.”

“How about some fresh air instead?” Devon suggested, grabbing Sarah by the arm and gripping mine firmly just as I was about to collapse to the floor. He helped keep us both steady and walked us toward the back of the club. Devon’s grip tightened, his nails digging into my skin.

Shit.

I felt my dress loosen around the chest, and when I looked down, my breast size was shrinking. “Oh, fuck,” I cursed to myself, knowing full well he had heard it.

As we walked past a mirror on the hallway wall, I quickly glanced up. Sarah was losing control of the spell. My hair was getting darker as we walked by the window, but thankfully, Devon hadn’t looked down at me yet. We stumbled through a doorway, and I looked over at Sarah, whose eyes were shutting. She was clearly not herself, either, as she lost her balance and almost fell over. I barely caught her before she hit the ground, but I almost stumbled myself as Devon still had a firm grip on my arm.

Oh, great. The asshole drugged us through the water bottles.

“Right here, ladies.” Devon gestured toward a black leather sofa. When I looked up, he grinned at me, flashing his perfect white teeth. This creep was a fucking rapist, and he wasn’t going to get away with this.

Not tonight. Not to anyone, ever!

A moment later, I heard the unbuckling of his belt. I couldn’t hold Sarah’s slouching body anymore, so I lowered her to the couch next to us.

The curtain at the back of the room shielded us from the rest of the club.

Great, not that anyone would come to our rescue, even if they saw what was happening.

I looked around and then back up at him. My head fogged over, and nausea reached the top of my throat.

“Mmm,” he hummed. “Cassy, looking fuckinghotin your dark, long hair.” He gave my hair an aggressive tug, pulling me forward. “Is that even your real name?”

A rush of nausea hit my throat again.

“Burn in fucking hell, asshole,” I said, but my threat came out weak and shaky.

Devon laughed and grabbed my knee. “It’s a shame your chest is getting smaller, though. Those big tits were sexy on you.”

I jerked my leg away from the grip he had on it and looked at Sarah.

“Sarah, wake up,” I cried while ignoring his rough hand, which landed on my knee again. Slowly, my blurred gaze looked up, locking with his. “Look, scumbag,” I managed to mumble out through a shaky breath. “I don’t think you realize what you’ve gotten yourself into. If I were you, I’d think twice before you touch us.” My warning sounded pathetic. The room spun again, and all I wanted to do was shut my eyes. But if I did, he would rape us both. I needed to keep his focus on me.

Devon was on me before I could throw out another threat. He shoved at my chest, slamming me hard against the back of the couch, straddled both sides of my thighs, and squeezed his legs together, his erection digging into me. He pinched my hips with his knees so I couldn’t move. My hands moved up to blast him away with my powers, but nothing happened.

This isn’t going to happen! I need to fight harder without my magic.

Panic rose in my chest, and my stomach felt like a hard rock was pressing against it. Devon needed to have his ass handed to him by Sarah’s and my powers combined, but the drugs knocked us down defenseless.

We will not be raped.

“Are you a human?” I asked while Devon placed his hands on my chest and fondled my body, gliding his hands up and down my breasts. I tried to dig my nails into his wrist to stop him, but he slapped my hand away like I was an annoying fly.

Devon didn’t answer me. He simply opened his mouth, and fangs protruded. “Seeing how you disguised your appearance, my only guess is that you’re a witch.” He glanced over at Sarah. “Or she is.”

“Sarah,” I said sluggishly, but my eyes stayed on his. “Are you still with me?”

There was no answer from her. She was already fading away.
