Dom finally appears in the living room and embraces Grayson. They’ve gotten close in recent years and they begin an animated conversation. Dean and River sit on the end of the sectional with Shyla and Emmett while Liv holds Jacob and we catch up.

“We need to come here more often,” she says, and I nod my head. We usually see each other a few times a year. But with being pregnant with Jacob I couldn’t do the last girls trip. Which is never truly a girls trip since all of our Alphas are possessive and don’t like the idea of us traveling alone. They give us our space, but it’s been a long time since we could all get together.

Before we get a chance to sit down, there’s a knock on the door. With my arms free, I answer it. It’s my brother and Cami. I wrap my arms around Cami so fast she can hardly react.

“I see how it is. My wife gets the first hug now?” Smith says.

“No, now you get the last. Let me see my niece and nephew,” I say and give my brother a smirk. Sylvie is thirteen and looks every bit like Cami, with warm brown skin, dark hair, and brown eyes. The only thing she got from my brother is the way she can make people three times her size cower in fear. I hug my niece and she hugs back. “The boys are in the basement,” I say to both her and Elliot, my nephew. Elliot looks a little more like my brother. He’s grown his hair out to match him, and I squeeze the little Smith until he begs me to let up.

Last, I wrap my arms around my brother. He holds me tightly back. “Happy New Year, Kels,” he says. I squeeze him just a little tighter before I get emotional again.

“Happy New Year, Harry,” I say and he pushes me off and I laugh.

“You just had to ruin it, didn’t you.” I laugh and make my way back to the living room. Almost everyone is here and I feel whole, surrounded by all the people I love the most in the entire world.

Emmett

Emilyisthelastto arrive and I have a huge grin on my face as I open the door for my cousin, her pack, and two children. Emily hasn’t changed much over the last fifteen years. She’s still as sweet as ever and her pack is still as devoted to her.

Her oldest is Adeline. She has dark hair and brown eyes, just like her father Kenji. She’s right around the same age as our twin boys. Cora is twelve and is the perfect mix of Griffin and Emily with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. I do think she’s taken after her father in personality. The little girl doesn’t take shit from anybody.

“Uncle Emmett, where is everyone?” Cora asks.

“All the kids are downstairs, darlin’.”

“Great, come on, Addie, let’s go.” She grabs her older sister by the wrist and drags her downstairs.

“Your youngest doesn’t fuck around, does she?” Freddie and Dion laugh at my joke, but Emily just gives me a small smile before wrapping her arms around my waist and giving me a hug.

“Missed you, Em.”

“Missed you too, Em,” I say back and we laugh.

“Now, where’s Kelsey?” she asks. I roll my eyes, but I don’t blame her. Kelsey is magnetic; she still fucking is. She’s like a ray of sunshine. You just can’t help it. You want to be near her, bask in her presence.

“Sugar, look who’s here,” I say. She, Cami, and Liv all perk up and run over to Emily. Giving each other kisses and hugs.

“Beer?” Griffin says. I give the Alpha a smile and lead him into the kitchen.

“Open bar, food, take whatever you want,” I say. Grabbing myself a beer and stacking my plate with pulled pork, green beans, and potatoes.

“How was the flight?” I ask casually. Griffin has always been the hardest to read out of Emily’s Alphas. I get along best with Freddie and Dion and I’ve even gotten to know Kenji better. Griffin tends to stick around Emily, he has built a friendship with Shyla and Dean though.

“Good, it’s a lot better than when the girls were younger. Speaking of which, where’s the little one?” he asks.

“Hold on,” I say, putting my plate down and going to the living room. Jacob is perched on Emily’s lap now, as she holds the teething toy and he nibbles on it.

“Can I steal Jacob for a moment?” I say. Emily kisses him on the head and hands him over. I perch him on my hip and walk back into the kitchen. “Here he is,” I say. And Griffin holds out his arms.

“May I?” he asks.

“Of course,” I say, putting Jacob in his arms. Jacob has been our easiest baby out of all the kids. He’s so calm and really doesn’t fuss much.

Griffin holds Jacob and smiles down at him. “Damn, I miss this,” he says, smelling Jacob’s baby scent.

“I was shocked you guys only had two,” I say.

Griffin shrugs his shoulders. “Emily had a hard time delivering Cora, and it traumatized all of us. We decided that two was the limit,” he says. “But damn, if holding a sweet baby doesn’t make you want to change your mind.”
