Me:OMG yes. When? I’m free whenever!
Corbin:Really? Yay! I’ll check for reservations now.
Me:Just tell me what you need and when and I’ll be there.
Corbin:Gah! I’m so pumped.
Me:Me, too. Thank you for thinking of this.
Her reply is a bunch of confetti emojis.
She’s such a dork.
“Brock!” I holler.
He’s carrying two glasses of water when he returns to the living room.
“Miss me that much?” he asks, smirking.
I roll my eyes in response. “Your sister just texted me.”
Something in his expression tells me he isn’t surprised by what I’m about to tell him. “Oh, yeah? What did she want?”
I narrow my gaze on him. “You know something.”
“Maybe. What did she have to say?”
My lips twitch. “We’re going on a mini-vacay to get pampered.”
He smiles and plops down close to me on the couch but not touching. His arm is slung across the back of the couch and he’s the picture of casual.
“I know.”
I giggle and shove him lightly with my foot but he catches it, placing it on his lap and rubbing the arch of my foot. I used to love this. When we would be hanging out and I’d stretch out my legs on the couch, he’d massage my feet. Wyatt hated to touch feet so I never got foot rubs from him, which never really bothered me but I also didn’t realize how much I missed it.
“You’re so cocky,” I say on a moan when he uses a knuckle to dig into the arch, my head falling back.
“Feel good?” he asks, his voice husky and low.
“So good,” I breathe, moaning again.
I lift my head and he raises his eyebrows.
“Sorry,” I say sheepishly. “It’s been a long time.”
“I don’t remember you making those noises. And trust me, I would definitely remember.”
I try to kick at him again but he keeps a tight hold on my foot.
“Easy,” he murmurs, lifting my other foot onto his lap as well. “Just relax.”
Relax? With the way he’s touching me and the way my body is responding? Not likely, but the more he kneads the arch of my foot and presses his thumbs into the top, the more relaxed I become.
While he continues to massage my feet, we turn on Netflix and get sucked into the first episode ofOzark.
After the first episode, I’m sure his hands have to be cramping so I say, “As much as I love the foot massage, give your hands a break.”
“I don’t mind.”
