“The bed is gone, and so is everything else in the bedroom. I had it redecorated after the video incident.”
I shrug. “I guess it depends on whether it’s nice or not.” Lord, that’s a stupid comment. What kind of a house does a billionaire live in? I’m not equipped to fit into his world. Am I?
Jax laughs and takes his phone back. “His place is nice. Not as nice as mine, but serviceable.” He swipes and pokes on the screen. “Consider this my housewarming gift for my new neighbors.”
“New neighbors?” I blink. “I can’t move to Vegas. I have the business here to run.”
Jax pays the waitress and sends her on her way. “You’re moving into our neighborhood here in K.C. Maverick, and Ember live next door to us, and I’ve sent Leo the address of two other houses and some land that is for sale in the neighborhood to build on if nothing suits you.” Leo’s eyes are round with worry as Jax continues to speak. “It’s nothing like the ridiculous over-the-top places Vegas has to offer, but the houses here are made for raising a family in a good neighborhood.”
“Jax!” Kat grabs Jax’s arm.
“Please, she’s going to love the neighborhood.”
“But she might want to be asked rather than told.” Kat’s jaw flexes as she scolds Jax.
“Babe….” His fingers squeeze mine. “I wouldn’t buy anything without making sure it’s what you want. Ignore Jax. He brought it up a few minutes before you showed up, and he’s like a bulldog wrapped inside of a red rubber ball.”
I’m so going to love these people. The closeness between them is written in their faces and told in the words they say to each other. They’d bust each other’s balls until they passed out, but no one else had better give one of them a cross look. Why wouldn’t I want to live next to them and raise a family?
“You’re lucky.” Kat lifts her glass to her lips. “At least Leo would ask you first. Jax bought the house and drove me to it without asking a thing.”
“Right. Like you were complaining in a horse-drawn carriage and rose petal paved walkway on your way to being tied up on the stairs and ate out until your toes curled in your glass slippers.”
“You’re right. And we have somewhere else to be. It was a pleasure to meet you both.” She scoots to the edge of the booth.
After they leave, I twist sideways to face Leo. This is the man I’m having a baby with. I’d do anything for him. “I would love to live next to your friends. I want a big group of people who would do anything to protect our baby living near us. Your friends are awesome, and Kat is adorable.”
“Perfect.” The tension in his shoulders eases, and he cups the back of my neck. “I missed you this afternoon. How was your visit with Ann?”
“She forgives you.”
“Good,” he growls and presses his lips to mine. The second his tongue trails along the seam of my lips, I know not wearing panties was the smartest decision I’ve made all day. He sucks my bottom lip into his mouth, causing my clit to twitch.
His lips trail along my jawline until they reach my ear. “What do you think about the sex toys?”
“I don’t know about that thrusting dildo thingie, but I think I’d like to try some of them.”
“Good because Jax is dropping off a box of toys as we speak.”
“What?”
“I told you he moves fast. He has his inventory at his place and our friend Hunter’s mechanic’s shop. When we get to my place, all your fantasies will be fulfilled.
My stomach flops, but it’s not about the toys. It’s about him. “You’re my fantasy.”
“Girl, you’re good for my ego.”
And when his fingers tangle in my hair, I’m practically crawling into his lap and dry humping him.
Chapter Sixty-Six
A Couple of Hours Later
Kinsley
“An ornamental rug and a magic lamp?” I lift the props out of the box and drop them onto the table. Jax has a vivid imagination, but even he can’t get a carpet to float.
“No.” Leo hefts me off my feet and sets me on the surface besideThe Ultimate Fantasy Box. The side of the box displays a silhouette of a couple in the Leapfrog position. “But Baby, I can show you the world.” He waggles his eyebrows and drops a blindfold into my hand.
